In all seriousness, this creation is totally absurd, and that’s why we love it! The chopped up Land Rover Defender Series I (built between 1948 and 1958) dragster is powered by a supercharged Ford Cleveland V8 engine delivering approx 800 HP. Even though the Defender dragster has probably the same Cd value of a brick wall, we’d love to see it in action, so if any of you guys have spotted a video of the car, don’t hesitate to send us an e-mail. –More pics after the jump

Not a "defender". It's Series 1 LandRover. The "Defender" range didn't start until *after* the "Series" LRs, in the mid 90s.
Anyhow, anorak off, I wonder how that would compare with a Bowler...

"Cylinder heads" who deface a wonderful oldie like this, should be castrated.
I doubt theres much actual landy in it, just a few GRP mouldings over a spaceframe? and if it was a modified S1 i bet the donor vehicle was in a sorry state...
great !
