1964 Pontiac Bunshee Coupe Concept for Sale on e-Bay for $1.5 Million

This truly beautiful and one-of-a-kind Pontiac concept car is up for sale on e-Bay with the “Buy it Now” price set at a whopping $1.5 million. Designed by GM Executive John Delorean to compete against the Ford Mustang, the 1964 Banshee Coupe prototype used parts from the Pontiac Tempest. Unfortunately, GM’s product planners viewed the Banshee as a threat towards the more upscale Corvette and pulled the plug. As you can see however, the Banshee’s swoopy styling influenced several GM products including the… Corvette.

Story has it that GM wanted to scrap the car but an employee convinced GM’s execs to sell him the car. According to the seller, the 1964 Banshee car has been driven less than 1500 miles and only brought to car shows. As unique as it may be, we kinda think that $1.5 million is a lot of money… -Image gallery after the jump

was the direction of influence from pontiac to the corvette; or from the corvette designers to the bunshee; or, was there simply a shared pool of designers essentially working with the same ideas?

Banshee? Perhaps that is what you mean, clearly it shows BANshee in the pictures...
