Citing inside sources, Autocar says that Audi’s forthcoming engine will be known as the 3.0 TFSI despite the fact that the “T” usually stands for “turbo”. The direct-injection supercharged V6 is said to produce 286bhp at 4850rpm, and 310lb ft torque at 2500rpm. -Continued
Insiders support that the 3.0 TFSI V6 unit will make its premiere on the new S4 and next year’s facelifted A6. As expected, the Q7 and A8 are also likely to get the supercharged V6

honda can extract more horsepower out of the same displacement engine without forced induction...albeit with less torque.
this engine does not impress me at all.
286bhp is most probably a mistake. Audi already gets 270 - 280bhp out of its 2.0-liter. I rather think of 386bhp
and you forgot to mention less fuel econonomy for the honda engine..
high revving engines are horrible at fuel economy.. this is why companies go with forced induction.
Who cares about power vs displacement.. i care about power vs fuel economy.
And for the guy that made the honda comment, you need to remember that vw and audi underrate their hp outputs. If those numbers are correct, i'll put my money on it putting out 280 whp when it's in production, which is much better than any n/a honda 3.0 V6, plus the significantly higher torque rating.
