Another day, another artist's impression of a fourth-generation Mazda RX-7 model. This time, the speculative rendering comes from Japan's Motor Magazine with the artist taking a more 'wedgy' approach to the design that incorporates all the usual styling cues from Mazda's latest production and concept models like the 'smiley' front grille, the pronounced front wheel arches and the sharp-angled headlights.
It's not our style to create stories out of nowhere, so we must say that both officially and unofficially, our Mazda sources have yet to confirm the return of the RX-7 in the Japanese automaker's car range. Plus, with the current global economic downturn and dire predictions for the near future, we gather that like any other automaker, Mazda will be cautious in its spending preferring to invest in the development of its core models rather than in niche cars like the RX-7.

Cool. Hope they have money for that
Geez! Kinda looks like a 1990's Camero!?!?!?
Nose, passinger door and mirror, B-pillar...
Will it be avaiable in T-Tops? LOL!!!
If the RX-7 comes back, it will look nothing like that. Mazda is going full-bore on "Nagare" styling, and this isn't it!
Car designs always look good when you eliminate tire and wheel rebound area. Still, it looks good.
A KNESAL ...................... Portland Oregon
I hope they bring back the rx7. Hopefully more power and more TQ.
Man, must love the Mazda/Ford policy here in the US! The RX-7 was quickly cancelled in 1995 but continue to go strong with changes till 2001 in other countries. The RX-8 is a feeble attempt to dominate the previous 7 but man it's a cheap weak replacement but still going strong and nothing changed via improvement. If Mazda was to dominate the globe as a Japanese automaker like Toyota,Honda and Subaru. Mazda should walk away from Ford completely!!!!
