The 2009 Shanghai Auto Show in China this April will see the unveiling of the Dongfeng Fengshen, a compact sedan that is built on a modified version of Citroen’s long-gone ZX platform and is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 105-horsepower. Even though you may have never guessed it by looking at these photos, the 4,5 meter long Fengshen was actually designed with the help of the folks over at Italdesign – a lot of good that did…

When it goes on sale in China this May, the Dongfeng Fengshen will compete against a whole army of domestically produced small sedans like GM’s Buick Excelle, Hyundai’s Elantra and VW’s Jetta.
