Ford Focus X Road with Off-Road Looks Premieres at AutoRAI

FoMoCo somewhat surprised us today with the unveiling of the Focus X Road at the AutoRAI motorshow in Holland. Based on the European market Focus station-wagon, the X Road adds a plastic-is-fantastic black bodykit as well as matt aluminum underbody skid trays to give the car a semi-SUV look in the likes of Audi's Allroad models but well, that's about it. No jacked up suspension or four-wheel drive system here. The X Road will be offered exclusively with a 125HP 1.8-liter engine that can run on unleaded gasoline or bio-ethanol or a combination of the two.

Production of the Focus X Road will be limited to 300 units, all for the Dutch market, with prices set at €25,175. Add another €500 and Ford will equip the car with the an Business Package consisting of a navigation system with 5-inch color display, USB connector, Bluetooth phone for hands-free phones and voice-control operation of the phone, the navigation system, air conditioning and the audio system.
