Reader Snaps 2010 BMW 5-Series GT and 2010 BMW X1 SUV on the Road

|
Yes, we know, we've already seen the BMW 5-Series GT while we've also posted a mega gallery of the final prototype model of the X1 SUV at the official presentation in Spain, but we just love it when Carscoop readers go all '007' on us. And that's precisely what Gal Leibovich did when he 'stumbled' upon both Bavarian models while vacationing in Germany. Gal was apparently on a spying spree as he also spotted a heavily camouflaged 2010 5-Series sedan, but the test driver was on to him and left the scene in a hurry before our man could take some more photos.

Both the BMW 5-Series GT crossover thingy and the X1 compact SUV are scheduled to make their first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September with sales starting (in Europe) in the fall of 2009. Great work Gal!

"while vacationing in Germany"

What a great way to ruin a vacation; seeing a 5gt.

"Well we're certainly not going to visit Germany again, not after what happened last time. That 5gt stomach virus kept me out for weeks!"

What's with all these 'dog-takes-a-crap' rear end designs lately?

As Jeremy Clarckson said once, you can put a bmw badge on a dead dog and still will sell like crazy [more or less]

This monster of a car doesn't look so bad after all.

Ummm... I quite like the undisguised, white car. Looks okay to me, from the rear at least.

Both very ugly cars. What is BM thinking with these designs. First, the ugly X6 and now this...c'mon let's get serious. And to top it of another ugly looking car the X1.

What's going on at BM. Such ugly designed cars. First, we had to put up with the ugliest SUV on the market the X6 and now this! C'mon let's get serious

Ewwwwww. All I can think of when I see that 5GT thing is PONTIAC AZTEC!! WHAT were you thinking BMW?! Keep up the nasty designing BMW. Saab will gladly accept your previous loyalists when they see the new 9-5!

This is not a spyphoto anymore, I have seen this car in March, driving in DUBAI.
So it is not a concept or a spyphoto, in Dubai they are already driving it.
