A Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was completely destroyed in Warsaw, Poland this past weekend when the 23-year-old driver of the German supercar lost control of the vehicle and crossed onto the opposite side of the road colliding with several oncoming cars including a Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. Though not officially confirmed by the police, Polish media reported that the SLR McLaren driver was racing against a Ferrari when the accident happened.If we translated the report correctly, it also appears that the McLaren driver was traveling/racing with his young child in the car... Fortunately no one was killed in the crash though some of the accident victims were taken to the hospital.

Apparently the driver was romanian and bought the car 3 days before the accident becouse his brother recently got himself a 599.

Hi, I can translate the report for you. The driver run from the accident scene as he wanted to transport his injured kid to the hospital after the crash. Second car approached him and he drove to the hospital and then come back to the crash scene in order to speak with police officers. He was sober. He was being prosecuted at the time when the report was written.
IT is also said that this was a race. Some onlookers confirmed that McLaren SLR was speeding 120mph together with Ferrari 599 GTB (those two cars were spotted before the accident in the centre of Warsaw - proof on the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHp3V9XyA4w&feature=player_embedded). Those two drivers might be friends, as they also stayed at the same hotel lol.
One witness said that he saw McLaren driver speeding with his wife, who hold their kid on her knees. Lol.
It is also rumoured that the guy has already ordered Audi R8 as well.
