Honda took the wraps off its fourth-generation Step Wagon, or as it also known, the Step WGN, in Japan today. The redesigned mid-size minivan features a pair of sliding doors at the rear and can accommodate up to eight passengers in three rows of seats that can be reconfigured in a number of ways. Honda said that the new Step WGN’s overall length has been increased by 50mm and height by 45mm compared to its predecessor. The people carrier’s cabin space measures 3,095mm in length.

The 2010 Step WGN is offered exclusively with a 2.0-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that is coupled to a CVT on the front-wheel drive models and to a five-speed automatic transmission on the all-wheel drive versions.

Depending on the trim level, the Step Wagon comes with an array of gadgets and features including an Active Front lighting System (AFS), a multi-view camera system that helps the driver during parking or when navigating narrow roads as well as a huge glass sky-roof that, at 1,400mm long by 840mm wide is one of the largest of any production vehicle in the world – or so Honda supports.
