One of the most eye-catching vehicles to go on display at this week's 2009 Essen Motor Show is the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing 'Dragstar'. Inspired from the classic 1956 Mercedes sports car, the dragster was built in Switzerland and is driven by Stefan Winter. It features a fibreglass body and a 6.9-liter engine that produces 1,050bhp with power transferred to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic gearbox.According to it owner, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing 'Dragstar' covers the quarter mile in 8.10 seconds reaching a top speed of 267 km/h (166 mph) while doing so.
