This year's edition of the Geneva Motor Show will see Toyota lifting the wraps off the refreshed RAV-4 compact SUV. According to the Japanese automaker, for the 2010 model year, the European specification RAV-4 receives a new front-end design and a more refined interior, plus engineering tweaks to further nudge CO2 emissions downwards.
In what concerns the exterior updates, the single photo released by Toyota suggests that the automaker's designers simply copied the front fascia of the recently revised Japanese market Vanguard (a.k.a. the long-wheelbase version of the RAV-4) to the short-wheelbase European model.
The styling changes include different head lights, a new front grille with more chrome bars, reshaped front bumper with different fog lights and a restyled hood.
Toyota did not say whether or not these cosmetic tweaks will also apply on the North American spec RAV-4.

she look's very good
hmm over the years the rav has lost its funky looks seems to get a more mature design each time. Guess its marketed at a different age group since it came out all those years ago. Shame as its starting to look a bit bland.

There is a mistake: what you call "2010 TOYOTA VANGUARD (JAPANESE SPEC)" is the "2009 TOYOTA RAV-4 (EURO-SPEC)" and viceversa.
^ Mistake corrected, thanks for the nod
They have managed to ruin both the Nissan Patrol and the Toyota RAV4
The VANGUARD front is simply too mature.
The current front is more friendly, and more"beautiful" should I say...
RAV4 looks quite nice.
Toyota & Honda dropped the ball on handling the recalls , they should have came forward with a full disclosure. Instead of waiting for a huge media blitz and tons of public pressure. But Toyota & Honda are not alone , I never seen so many car companies having recalls all at the same time. I had no idea my car which is not even a Toyota or Honda, was affected until I searched on http://www.carpedalrecall.com and found I had a bad Anti Lock control unit on my 2008 Pontiac G8 , So be careful check daily, it seems more and more cars are being recalled .
It looks like a Toureg/Tiguan and a mix of the Highlander in there. It looks good.
The rear view is much nicer in the 2009 model
It looks sleek and SUV tough both at the same time unlike the Xs and Qs and its got the Toyota badge.
Toyota is going to be rock on the Geneva Motor Show for its RAV-4 compact SUV. From the first official photos the designs are looking awesome and obviously a matured one.

Either way, it won't be able to deccelrate or stop.

It would be helpful for those of us in the USA if attendees could ask about this at the Geneva show. Also, I'm curious if the headlights are HID and what (if any) powertrain changes we can expect for the 2011 Rav4. I keep hearing rumors of a 2011 or 2012 Hybrid Rav4....but you know how rumors go.
i like it. face it, the rav has always been a girl's car. i have no issue with that, but i like this more rugged look. it should appear to both genders.
Where the spare wheel?
Lost of the Rav4 look, sad to say.....
I bought my pre-owned Toyota Rav4 2009 model from Santa Ana. Used car dealers there told me that newer models are still up on sale. The engines are all up and the exteriors are mainly improved in the latest models. As a Rav4 owner, I would be glad to see the transformation of Rav4 2009 to 2010.
