The first official photos of the Mercedes-Benz F800 Style 'four-door coupe' study surfaced online today ahead of the concept model's official world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2.
The new concept model serves two purposes: first, it samples Mercedes-Benz's new and more dynamic design language that will be first applied on the next-generation CLS sports saloon, which is expected later this year, and second, it is believed to preview a smaller brother to the CLS.
If Mercedes-Benz goes ahead and produces the CLC, the four-door saloon with the coupe-like roofline and aggressive stance will most probably slot between the C-Class and E-Class models in terms of size and pricing.
Of course, don't expect to see the concept model's rear-hinged sliding doors or the uber-futuristic interior making it to production.
As for the powertrain, the photos reveal that Mercedes-Benz engineers considered two options for the F800 Style study: a fuel-cell system with lithium-ion battery pack and a rear-mounted electric motor or a gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain.
Stay tuned on Carscoop as we'll update this story as soon as we have more information and/or new photos.

Sorry, but Hyundai isn't going to appreciate Mercedes copying them.
Photos? Don't you mean illustrations?
chrysler 200c?
Looks like Merc is paying tribute to Chris Bangle's "flame-surface" design...
and the point of this is? they already have the CLS
What's wrong with your people! it looks freaking awesome, and is absolutely not derivative in any way. I really hope Mercedes is gonna build this thing with as little modifications as possible!!
Hyundai really isn't goin to appreciate that!!
i just laughed out REALLY loud
Reg; "Looks like Merc is paying tribute to Chris Bangle's "flame-surface" design..."
Where have you been hiding?
All modern auto designs use some of Chris's techniques, and this is not Mercedes first use of C B's stuff.
Reg; 'Jackson' All auto design is 'Derivative', I'm sure you meant 'Specifically' derivative.
Reg; F800..... At least it gets rid of those dam wheel arches.
There is a nice look going on here that takes Mercedes back to it's own Marque design heritage while advancing it.
Brilliant, and nothing like a fucking boring Hyundai
It really looks like Concept CS of BMW.
no wonder why it looks like Bmw concept CS----designer who designed BMW CS is working now at Mercedes advanced design!
Beautiful. Build it!
Chris Bangle Meets Mercedes Benza
Brilliant, voluptuous looking concept for a compact sport saloon. It could become a worthy alternative for the likes of Audi A5 Sportback,Chrysler 200C,Alfa Romeo 169,and Lexus IS350,if rightly engineered.
A beautiful car, the new design language is stunning. I am glad that Merc is slowly abandoning too conservative designs it has cherished for years.
The interia is pure concept, but the exteria is just what I would like to see on the road, unchanged. It would make a revolution, finally a new, modern Merc, without boring lines.
A comparison with Hyundai is senseless in this respect.
Merc, build it!!!
i dunno!! does evry one think m benz is above comparison with hyundai? no they r not.as a matter of fact i see a lot of fluidic sculpture on this.although it looks really stunning.
Reg; "new design language".... ?!
"finally a new, modern Merc, without boring lines." ... The 'CLS' was dated and boring(?), likewise the big 'SL"...?
mercedes came out with this design before hyundai anyway

Not completely wrong, but the so-called "flame-surface" theme appeared first in the 2000 Toyota Celica (at least in the U.S.) - designed by Calty (Toyota's California studio) and shown as the 1999 XYR concept - years before Bangle's 7-series and the Z4 roadster came to the scene.
Do a little online search for pics and info.
Sometimes we give credit to whom does not deserve it.
Speaking of that Celica, the new Peugeot 408 sedan on these pages features a similar nose... ;)
