2011 Dodge Journey SR Rally Look Special by Irmscher

|

A new special edition version of the Dodge Journey crossover has been launched in Germany. The Journey SR is the outcome of the cooperation between Dodge and German tuning firm Irmscher, which has developed numerous special edition models for carmakers in Europe, the most recent being the 'Chevy Cruze Irmscher Edition'.

The Irmscher treatment for the Dodge Journey is purely cosmetic as there are no performance enhancements for the SR that keeps the standard model's 140HP 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine.

On the outside, the Journey SR combines a metallic black finish with twin-rally stripes in vintage orange that run throughout the body and black alloy wheels with an orange hue on the rims. Optionally, Dodge offers the Journey SR in a Inferno Red Metallic color with black stripes.

The lower front apron, roof spoiler, chrome tail pipe and tinted rear windows complete the exterior changes.

Inside, the Journey SR features a leather treatment for the instrument panel, aluminum sport pedals, a chunkier leather sports steering wheel, chrome / aluminum accents and unique floor mats.

In Germany, prices for the 2011 Journey SR 2.0D by Irmscher start from €31,190.

You can polish crap, but it remains crap all the same...

nice way of dressing up family transportation. i like the look, except for the vertical stripping at the rear. otherwise, cool!

it is amazingly attractive. i rented a dodge journey during a fantastic outing in orlando, florida while in the states. it is one roomy and comfy crossover. both ride and handling were better than many wagons costing double. the decked out version here is snazzy for a near minivan. i would like to see them go beyond first base with the design, offer a racier engine and spruce up the already attractive interior to match the bold styling. when placing my next reservation for a car in the u.s., i will request another journey. the power is more than adequate fully loaded with passengers, luggage, sports gear and the quick to operate and cool air conditioning blasting away.

I suggest a few additional touches like a body coloured grille, all black leather interior with modest orange (or other stripe colour) seat trim, such as subtle stitching. The car would look even better in white with blue striping and many of the same colour combinations available as options on the handsome 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T and SRT-8. I am pleased with the family's well equipped and trustworthy Chrysler T&C that we will likely trade for the all new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The top of the line Journey is another choice within the Chrysler fold. Chrysler has served us well in car, truck and SUV classes for years.

I drove one for a few months, I would buy one but add some power to it and make a few upgrades and come out less than a highlander costs.

Maybe Irmscher can move beyond mere cosmetics when the Pentastar-powered version of the Journey shows up in Germany?
