If you found yesterday's [video] story with a man dodging an oncoming automobile mind-boggling, then you're definitely going to love this one.
An unnamed man from Santiago, Chile, hit a dog with his car on the local highway. The driver, certain that the dog had met its maker after the impact, decided to find a repair shop to inspect the condition of his vehicle.
Half an hour later he arrived at a repair shop, but the minor blemishes to the vehicle's front-end wasn't what caught everyone's attention. Believe it or not, it was the dog that had been trapped inside the car's bumper after the impact! Amazingly, the four-legged animal was alive having suffered only a broken leg! Watch the video after the jump.

Is this real? If so, amazing story.
dude ,,3 minutes video shows you what happened ,,,and you still askin if this shit is real or not !!!!!!! u must be very smart :)
The right leg looks broken.
What kind of car is that?
Is it just me, or are cars becoming safer for small animals?
this car must have 7 stars for animal crash from ncap....:D
How the hell he got inside the bumper?? I didn't see any bigger holes that he can enter
It seems to be a Citroen C4.
Citroen C4 rules!!
The ass could have stopped immediately to check on the dog but assumes it had gone for good. The dog is found half hour later!
it's a Citroen C4
it is a citreon C4
That is a Citroen C4
To the 2nd anonymous. I've seen the video, and what I've seen it's real. Now in my opinion it's easier to simulate it and put the dog inside, than actually hit a dog on a highway (let's say, even if the guy was going at 50mph, I doubt the dog would survive like that. Than, no burns from the radiator? Plus, how did he fit so well in the front grill? Well, like I said, if it's true, lucky dog. But it can also be a great safety ad for the Citroen C4 (maybe in Chile they give great importance to their small friends' life).
poor pooch! dogs are pretty resilient. i hope this beauty animal heals inside and out.
fake! c'mon!?
And that's what I call pedestrian safety :)
ive seen this similar situation with a Kangaroo here in Austalia - it was physically INSIDE the bumper and still very much alive... Think about how these energy absorbing bumpers flex!
Most cars have the radiator there...and very little space between the bumper and the radiator. I just wonder how that dog fitted there. At least he's ok and that's good.
i don't think this is true. i think it's a hoax. you can take a dog and put him in the engine bay, and then when you open the hood act surprised like
"OMG, how did that dog get in there ?" simple, because you put him there, arshole ! anyways, the dog surely knows what happened so I think we should ask him lol. so does anybody speak dog ?
It is not fake..I am from Chile and there it full of dogs everywhere.. poor animals.. they get killed like squirrels. That is a Citroen C4, that brand is very common there..I hope it gets better..one of them said "Citroen worries about dogs on the highway" haha
Ask the dog's obviously broken leg/shoulder. You think someone would snap their pet's bones and then shove it into a car grill just to post a f*cking video of it on Youtube? Come on. Even for a dumbass, that's a pretty stupid conclusion.
Recently a couple from nevada county california were driving through utah and hit a coyote at 75mph.. It also was trapped in their bumper for about 8-10 hours and still survived fine and even escaped the pound.. So i think this is for real yes.. The fenders are plastic and able to flex when the animal hits it, the animal ends up bouncing back into the bumper.. Crazy but true.. here's the link

If you think it's fake do you also think they broke the animal' leg for the purpose of the video? Or do you think it broke its leg by other circumstances and someone came up with a great idea to pull off this stunt?
this surely isn't fake it's totally plausible the bumper are flexible enough to let the animal in
cats may have 9 lives, but this dog has at least 2.
Stop using after the jump when you don't have a jump. There was no break between content at all. Story -> video or do you imply the only live of spacing is a jump? Seriously has to be the most annoying blog term, I don't think anyone uses it correctly.
The vertical plastic parts in the grill break, then the long horizontal elements flex enough so that the animal disappears into the space between the grill and the radiator -- the same thing happened to me with my Prius when I hit a pheasant a few years ago -- I drove a few more miles, parked, and heard something in the front of the car -- the pheasant was staring at me from in front of the radiator.
It's obviousl that the poor dog was scared to death and was in vocal and then obvious visual pain. Why did those morons feel it was necessary to parade the dog around for the camera? What crap that was! The leg is visually broken and the shoulder appears to have possibly been dislocated. This dog should've immediately been taken to a Vet for treatment. I hope that they didn't wait so long that shock took the dogs life. If this animal was a human, they'd have had an ambulance there and would've been headed to a hospital immediately. But since it's a dog, they stand around talking nonsense and performing for the camera. Very poor priorities people!!
I thought they acted compassionately while handling the dog. Stop viewing the world so negatively. People are kinder than you think.
What nonsense! They took too long disassembling that wind screen. Instead of removing all of the attaching screws, they removed half of them and then tried to squeeze the dog through the first half of it. Then someone obviously grew a brain and removed the final attaching screws! I'm not viewing the world negatively either. I'm simply commenting on the lack of action of a few Chilean mechanics that weren't working as hard as they would've if that had been your daughter trapped in there. People are as kind as they appear to be and these individuals were having fun accordingly to their laughter. That isn't kindness, that's negligence. If that was your child trapped behind that grill, you'd be standing there screaming your fool head off and the Emergency Responders, at least here in the USA, wouldn't have wasted time unscrewing that grill, they would've cut the front of the damned car off to expedite the rescue. That's compassion you nameless fool.
@Tig, trust me, if you cut my car in half to rescue a damn dog I cut YOU in half. I would rather have them unscrew properly than cause more damage for an animal. Grow some balls, eat beef, and quit PETA and you can call yourself a man.
