In a bit of a marketing stretch, Hyundai is trying to "sell" its new iX35 compact crossover (sold as the 2010 Tucson in North America) at the kind of crowd that shops at Harrods' luxury department store in Knightsbridge, London. The South Korean firm's new crossover model will be on show in Harrods' Brompton Road window displays for a week starting from Monday 7th June.
Hyundai's managing director, Tony Whitehorn said: "We are very proud to have our newest model on display in such an iconic location. Like everything in Harrods, the ix35 has been designed to be stylish, great value and of the highest quality."
The automaker said that staff members from its UK division will be on hand at the department store to answer any product questions about the new iX35.

Just plain ridiculous. There are rocking horses that boast better style and quality in the kids department, with price tags that just simply make the iX35 look like a disposable toy!
Clearly Hyundai missed all the important customers (to Harrods anyway) insane cars parked up on the streets outside.... and the helicopters on the roof.
Maybe Al Fayed sealed this deal as a leaving present for the new owners! Or are Qatar Holdings already diluting the brand name....
....who cares wat kinda of insane cars customers drive...it's a smart concept nd dats why hyundai is sweepin d industry wit it's "winds of change" they don't get intimidated by all those so called over priced european cars ...nd eyy!! d ix35 is a looker like it or not!....it's not a toy as u call it..
Anon 2 I wasn't trashing Hyundai (they are doing great things), just giving the angle from the snobbish custom Harrods attracts. "who cares wat kinda of insane cars customers drive"..... Harrods customers do, they aren't going to suddenly ditch their Rolls for a Hyundai!
The ix35 is a good proposition IN ITS MARKET.... a Harrods window for 7 days, whether good or bad, isn't going to do squat for sales or image of a mass production vehicle.
yeah!....i get ur point....dem costumers are hard to attract eyy! snobbish u say!.......well maybe dey jus want to give it a try..ope it works out 4 dem
Thats what I call being right at home....top notch car in a top notch shop...brilliant!
