2020 Apple iMove Study: Macintosh thinks differently as it hits middle age

|

A while back there was a rumor going around that Apple and its overlord Steve Jobs were going to be getting into the city car game. Although nothing official has been announced in the years since those rumors started - and Google looks ready to shut down anything Apple has coming with its driver-less cars - the iMove, an independent design study, is likely close to what people were thinking as soon as Apple mentioned "car".

Designed by 20-year old Liviu Tudoran, the iMove is simple, smooth, cute, and most of all, blends right into the Apple product lineup of pods and user-friendly design.

The exterior uses "photocromic material" to adjust the exterior hue of the vehicle (at least on the transparent parts) based on a variety of presets. Think of it like the Mustang's MyColor gauges, but on the outside of your ride.

Have a look at the pics below (and use our new zoom function, if necessary) to check out some of the designer's ideas and explanations behind them. While the spelling may be a bit off, the idea seems to be fairly on.

The iMove, though currently just a sketch and rendering, will be right at home in the cities of the future. I'll take mine in Vintage Mac Beige please.

It looks nice, but I have to wonder how the designer envisioned crash safety?

An Apple logo on a car! That too bitten off!

"...an independent design study..."

So what is the point?
Is Carscoop becoming more and more now a site of independent design studies?
I thought it was a site with news in the automotive world,
not an independent design studies motorshow...

Simple. If it crashes, turn it off and turn it on again

@anon 5: what, exactly, is wrong with helping showcase some neat ideas from students and non-professionals?

Anonymous said... »October 23, 2010

iDon't care.

"@anon 5: what, exactly, is wrong with helping showcase some neat ideas from students and non-professionals?"

That carscoop is losing it.
That simple.

Scoop stands for "exclusive news published before a rival" in journalism.

With full respect to the efforts made by students and non-professionals,
who could be the rival and who could really be interested that much to be the first to present an independent design study for a vehicle asked by noone and with zero chances to be produced?

Such an article could have a place in a site hosting design news and studies,
unfortunately there should be no place in a car sccop site.

lmao! Now carscoop stops mentioning the nationalities of wannabe designers from Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech and other lame European countries.
Big fail! lol!

Get over it. If you think you can design something like this, do it Anonymous. But you're all talk no show. And besides, no one is forcing you to read the article. If you don't fancy design concepts, go read something else like TMZ's car section. Simple as that.

I really don't get what the problem is. It's a car and this is a car site. Am I missing something here?

On the concept, I think the styling is a bit too complex for a product with the Apple logo. I mean, look at the iPod, iPhone and iPad. Plus, a pure white colour with some aluminum details would have brought it more in line with Apple's new gizmos. My two cents

Glad Carscoop ran this piece. I found it quite intriguing and totally on point with the recent story about Google developing a driverless car. Anon5 is a whiney baby with limited imagination.

Carscoop please change your name into Carstudy.blogspot.com and take with it the useless threads.

Not bad; the execution is really good but I'll agree with a previous comment that the styling should be even more simple

I don't understand why Carscoop approves comments from all anonymous persons...
@OneOfTheAnonymous if you have the guts, write who you are and from where you are. And stop writing about lame country. You lame person...

is ugly. No matter, a product by Apple will sell..

Salvador Ochoa said... »October 31, 2010

Please...this design is in no way typical of Apple and I cannot think Apple ever creating anything as horrible as this. This 20-year-old guy doesn't get Apple design.

Thank you and good night!

Will probably have really poor battery life, batteries that you can't replace and require a special apple designed plug to charge it that won't fit in anything else
LOL

Anonymous said... »November 03, 2010

And you can only fill it or charge it at special apple only stations with special apple designed fuel or appple electricity
