2012 Chrysler 300 Sedan Teaser Site Launched, First Pictures Released

|

Just like they did with the redesigned Sebring, which now carries the name 200, Chrysler's marketing team is preparing us for the launch of the 2012MY 300 with a special dedicated website that includes numerous cropped images of the firm's most important new model.

The pictures appear to confirm Chrysler's styling turn to softer and less muscular shapes and design elements on the outside combined with more elegant and upscale interiors, as first seen on the Sebring's replacement.

Along with the design makeover, the 300 will benefit from a reworked chassis and of course, the addition of the company's new Pentastar V6 with a displacement of 3.6-liters. A 5.7-liter V8 Hemi with rear- or optionally all-wheel drive will complete the initial offerings with a more potent SRT8 model expected to be introduced down the line.

From what we've heard, the new 300 will make its world premiere at the upcoming 2011 Detroit Show in mid January, though it is possible that Chrysler will release more information and pictures of the car before its first public outing in motor town.

love the attention to detail! great wheel design, interior and signature signs of classic american large car appointments from stem to stern.

epitome of elegance! nice departure from the current 300/300c design, but i will miss that, despite preferring the '11.

Another HUGE hit! Very different take from the Charger and Challenger. More my type of big car.

Bye-bye DTS, Town Car and MKS. The Hemi V8 is why I favor this over the Lincoln MKS (V6 ONLY), yet I also like the new Lincoln, but loath the FWD aspect. Even my dad's '10 AWD seems to feel more FWD in execution. The '11 Ford does have "Ecoboast". It is needed to compete!

in a market of fleet only crown vic's and town cars, the lame duck sts/dts and lucerne, defunct grand marquis, embarrassing fwd, v6 impala, the crown goes to the 2011 dodge charger and chrysler 300c. slam dunk.

me? a poor college student without a car.

I will break my piggy bank to afford one! A loaded AWD "C" version with std. hemi v8 is expected to raise up to $7500 over the '10, but I heard that there may be a v8 limited... not sure. You read a lot of rumors.

Loving this car from pics is a breeze! Hot damn!!!

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

it is supposed to feature real wood, leather beyond just seat surfaces, like the jeep overland.

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

it will get a "7", "8" or "9" speed transmission, i think. it is more than a beauty inside and out, but with the many other changes like a 6.4 liter hemi in the srt-8 model.

I like the Audi'esque headlight treatment.

I'll withhold my final judgement until I experience the interior.

The dash with blue mood lighting is soothing and very sheik.

WOW! Very much improved. I am sold.

and i thought the 200 looked flawless. the 11my 300c is the cadillac of chrysler's, but better looking than most recent caddy's.

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

I am in awe of the entire car, but find the rear irresistible.

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

i, too, like the audi-like headlights. reminds me of the mighty a8. the rest of the car is classic chrysler with elements of a mighty german luxury sedan.

- kinda, but far more befitting on the large 300c.

There are all new colours from a site I visited! I can envision a loaded 300 is deep blue. A colour I think it would look super in. Dark hues on vehicles of this size and elegance tend to standout in such regal colours. I had a Lincoln LSC in midnight blue and not until now have seen a more stylish North American made car. Here in Canada, where winters can be rough, the AWD option should be extremely popular. I have a Jeep now, but miss a saloon. They are reeving up the Ontario plant nearby for the '11 Dodge and Chrysler Charger/Challenger/300. Good to see friends and family from here and across the border in the U.S. called back to work... many from Buffalo, NY. We enjoy driving by the plant, watching the new Chrysler's roll out of the factory and loaded on transport vehicles.

The interior of our '11 Overland Jeep is the best of any car or truck ever for the money and vehicles costing double! If it is any indication, I will happily replace our 2008 300 Touring Signature with a 2011 or 2012 300c or SRT-8! The Hemi is sensational!

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

^i toured that plant! amazing to see.

i love the car as shown in black/black, but would like to see it in a lighter color, as i would not buy another black car due to difficulty with it showing scratches and dirt. i think "white gold" is a color being offered on the 300, even for '10.

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

"and i thought the 200 looked flawless. the 11my 300c is the cadillac of chrysler's, but better looking than most recent caddy's."

So, so true. But if you really want a Cadillac, why don't you go buy the real thing instead of this 1990s E-Class draped with Fiat clothes (my oh my, it looks so manly Toni) and quality?

^ gm boy, i drive a cts sedan and love everything about it, but it is cramped. it looks awesome, can be had in awd, which i selected. i need something larger and think the 300c should suit my needs and tastes better. will keep my caddy as a second car. aside from quality glitches, i would recommend the cts to anyone able to suffice with small quarters up front and useless rear seat. - gm man (lol, bro!)

The 300 is the same size as the CTS. What are you are you talking about?

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

^ no. the 300 is classified as a large car. the cts, a midsize. check out the specs of the chrysler at allpar.com and the cts at cadillac's website. you will find only '10 stats for chrysler. the '11 is rumored to offer even more room.

Thanks for the stats (x2)^,^. The less "gangsta" style windows of the 2011 Chrysler suggests increased height, more airy cabin and increased head room. The roof has been raised and the wheelbase widened, according to preliminary reports yet to be confirmed. More details should be out shortly, with a December 2010 production date of the 300, 300c rumored (srt-8 with 6.4 liter hemi to follow), with official intro in January '11.

Great dialog! The buzz of this new Chrysler is indicative of what the company is striving for and has succeeded with when the corp. revealed 300% increase in non fleet delivers of JGC's with a major shortage of high end Limited and Overland models and V8's across the board! According to Automotive News trade journal, Chrysler underestimated demand for completely loaded variants and gusty Hemi V8's in favor of entry level Laredo and lesser Laredo-X models with the new v6. Dealers have thousands of Ltd's and Overland's on back order and a new Summit model that was unveiled in LA and showcased here at Carscoop. Nice feature, boyz!

Adding LED to the headlamps is a good idea but it appears this Audi rendition is a little incomplete in it's execution. Maybe it's the sort of thing that has to grow on you.

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

chrysler has done a more thorough job vs. audi with its led light treatments, but i would still purchase either an audi or new 300c for '11. never would have said the about chrysler until recently or back in the 50's, 60's or 70's...

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

i like the grandeur of the new 300c. the cts is sharp and edgy. both nice cars.

Anonymous said... »November 19, 2010

Never felt claustrophobic in the 300, but certainly in the Cadillac. Still no reason to say nay to the Caddy CTS. Both take a little getting used to because of their lower roofs. The visual appear of the exterior is worth it.

"Looks like the Chrysler PAID fanboys are at it again."

just got in from work and this post put a smile on my face! one handsome design! if you do not like it, no fret, not everyone is into american muscle, dude. i read every response here and other sites & agree that this is the best design in decades! stop your pouting & grow some balls & pubes.

not into changing the minds of others or criticizing those with great taste and liking a big, stylish rwd or awd car with all new metal and other high ranking materials in either a new six, better tuned hemi-8 or new 6.4 set for the srt-8.

if a "fanboy" (new tern for me), i am his granddad. the 300 is timeless, ageless and appeals to country clubbers, rappers, grandsons (from your rant) and this grandfather.

LMFAO! It makes me laugh like hell when every time somebody likes something and another person doesn't, the person complimenting the wheels is looked at as a corporate paid blogger. I have bigger and better things to do, as most of us here in school or on the job do. You like it, post your thoughts. You don't, tell us or skip over to something that turns ya on! Silly girls!

Back to the 300, please. I cannot wait to drive one. Enough foreplay with these teasers! I want a loaded "C" edition with panoramic roof and a long wheel base for my limo business. It is not that large of a firm, but we take a chaffer many to weddings, casinos and wine tasting tours. I have Cadillacs, Lincolns and current 300's and the Chrysler's are preferred with more youthful clients. The Town Car is history and the DTS is gone after the model year. I will explore the '11 300c for personal use and business-wise when my fleet needs replacement livery vehicles.

I think I am in love with the 300 from the spy pics and glimpses of it here. It looks American with a hint of German influence in the front lights. A nice trend without taking on the look of another company's design. A real winner.

Many excellent comments and views. No one should ridicule another for expressing their opinion as to liking a car. It is childish and insulting to conjure up a conspiracy. The problem with blogs is the attraction to idiots attacking the wisdom of others. I agree with the individual (above a few) comments... post your thoughts of the story/pics, respect others or skip the post and go onto something you wish to state your thoughts without berating others.

Me? I like the 300! Other cars, too, and I will continue to express my opinion about those and less desirable vehicles.

Following the great interest in the 2011 Chrysler 300C, I managed to obtain color offers. However, Chrysler has not yet released its special edition exterior colors and special leather and "all leather" interior trim colors and color combinations, not available on V6 models. The upcoming SRT-8 will have some of the same colors, along with model exclusive interior and exterior colors.

2011 EXTERIOR COLORS (Touring and Limited Models)

Interior Colors:

-Black w/Luxury Leather Trimmed Bucket Seats or Luxury Leather-Trimmed Bucket Seats (two design choices)
-Black/Light Frost Beige w/Luxury Leather Trimmed Bucket Seats
-Dark Frost Beige/Light Frost Beige w/Luxury Leather-Trimmed Bucket Seats

Exterior Colors:

Billet Metallic Clearcoat
Blackberry Pearlcoat
Bright White Clearcoat
Brilliant Black Crystal Pearlcoat
Dark Charcoal Pearlcoat
Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearlcoat
Ivory 3 Coat
Sapphire Crystal Met Clearcoat
Tungsten Metallic Clearcoat

Hope you enjoy! Source: Chrysler Fleet Services

NOTE: I am not employed by Chrysler. I work at a university in charge of fleet operations for campus and university use, including oversight of law enforcement vehicles. I am merely a car enthusiast enjoying the literature we receive annually. We are exploring the purchase of 2011 Dodge Chargers (not 300's) for campus security.

Anonymous said... »November 20, 2010

blackberry is a keen colour available on the 2011 jeep limited and overland models. a rich grayish-blue. think it would look sharp on a 300.

Anonymous said... »November 20, 2010

Really enjoy the trend of two-tone interiors! I dislike light color carpeting and get sick of black leather seating surfaces. Sounds like the contrasting color combinations should solve my dilemma. I had a special Audi A6 with unique color choice. It would still be in vogue today, anything with classic colors should. Most people do not think this hard, but I spend more time in my cars than in my house :)!

Anonymous said... »November 20, 2010

This is a very nice effort from Chrysler, and I'm sure it will look more "upscale" a la the Lincoln Town Car, but I prefer the "gangster" look of the previous gen. This is going to be too formal looking for my tastes. Too Lincolny. But I'm sure that is what Chrysler is aiming for and they have done a good job. They will be successful attracting the target demographic. However, I'm sure I would prefer the new interior. Maybe I could try a front clip swap from the previous generation 300...Hmmmmm? Also, what will an SRT8 version (if they even offer it) of this new design look like. Doesn't seem to lend itself to the sporty appeal of an SRT vehicle.

Anonymous said... »November 20, 2010

i, too, like the "gangster" look of generation 2005-2010, but it is rumored widely in detroit that the "real" 200c (not the '11) or another yet to be named rwd or awd-optioned sedan will be produced. if this is true, it is to be smaller in size and lower in price and will share an assembly line with the next dodge challenger. however, they will not have any alike body panels and the chrysler may add a coupe and convertible that will have no resemblance to any dodge. dodge has been hinting at a ragtop challenger so the concept is there. another thought is a very different looking 300 srt-8. whatever happens, the 300c, as shown is very elegant and the 2011 charger and challenger strikingly sporty for current 300 fans. no matter what, i will miss the current car. it holds the most awards ever and not unlike in the past there should be a variety of flavors 300 touring, 300 touring signature edition, 300 limited, 300c and 300 srt-8. the base "lx" has been dropped. i am a chrysler and chrysler imperial collector, but of classics only. i do drive a "300c heritage" purchased as a special limited run variant that i will never part with.

Anonymous said... »November 20, 2010

^ i remember seeing a really neat 300c heritage in a sharp candy apple red with a light grayish interior with embossed labels on the seatbacks. nice!!!

No, I ment I hate teaser images from ANY automaker. This doesn't change my thoughts on the 300 in any which way.

Give this car the Limousine treatment, Chrysler, and reap the rewards. Remember how Ford stepped in late with the (FWD) Taurus Interceptor? Make them late to the game again with their next limo. They barely even have a car for it right now... Taurus limo? Please. MKS limo? I wouldn't ride in it for my life. MKT limo? It'll scare the children!

Anonymous said... »November 21, 2010

GOOD NEWS! "autoweek" magazine features the '11 on the cover and a raving report within. no disguises whatsoever. the car as shown is a stunning black 300c with sumptuous camel color interior with real wood generously applied to dashboard, heated steering wheel and elsewhere. a panorama roof is standard as is an 8" touch screen with navigation and other controls, amongst countless other features (some automotive firsts). spy photos and even chrysler's teaser shots DO NOT do this extraordinary car an ounce of justice. it will debut in detroit, according to "aw". the 300/300c still has the "gangsta" windows (but i think raised some)and i could easily see the potential for a sportier srt-8 which would look "right at home", especially with rumored darked taillamps and a mess bentley-like grille treatment.

now, i can finally add my blessing opposed to being doubtful!
