Catering to the needs of soccer players, singers and business men of all sorts (including of course the shady type) who want to stand out from the crowd of Porsche Cayenne, Range Rover and BMW X5 SUVs, GM of Europe is launching a new and exclusive edition of its larger-than-life Escalade.
The Escalade Platinum Edition includes nearly every option of the regular Escalade and offers numerous unique additional features made available only on this version. The only option offered to buyers is the exterior color.
Along with the special Tehama aniline leather that covers the seats, instrument panel and center console, the top-of-the-line Caddy SUV adds genuine olive ash and burled walnut woods with wood inlays and aluminum trimmed instrument panel and console.
Rear passengers are treated to a separate entertainment system with DVD player, while heated and cooled front cup holders are included as well as a modified instrument panel, all set in a unique interior color combination of cocoa/light line.
Other standard features include hard drive-based navigation, keyless entry, electrically adjustable leather seats with memory function and xenon adaptive forward lighting.
A set of unique 22-inch multi-spoke chrome wheels completes the package.

People who want to "stand out from the crowd of Porsche Cayenne, Range Rover and BMW X5 SUVs". By buying a REALLY shit car?
Nobody wants to stand out from the crowd if it means having a crap car, then again they have improved it and tried to make to the high quality that Europeans want, still not good enough though.

Who´s going to buy this here in Europe??? Nobody, that´s for sure.
Americans really do still hate the Europeans as witnessed by this exported POS.
Incidenly, why should I trust a BMW or a Mercedes built in Alabama?
rich country living European who wants to be more like American might want to consider this, but there is the import tax issue which pushes the price to range rover's range, but the range rover certainly looks a lot better, known for its legendary capable off road, seen any Cadillac in the safari? so it's not a very hard choice.
POS it may be, but i'm fed up of mercedes, audi, range rover et al crap, so please all the shady characters mencioned above buy this car and stand out!
Whenever I need to get from Manhattan to JFK, I request one of these. I prefer them even more than an S Class. Anyone who says that this is a POS hasn't been in one. No, the interior is not up to Audi Q7 standards, but only a nit picking person like me would notice. It's more than competitive against everything else in this class.
What's the fund driving arround 4 tons of steal? :)))

Hello!
Range rover served in world wars but its not reliable as its made out to be. Problems...problems..problems.
Isn't this the same SUV that is being stolen and causing insurance rates to go higher because of its numerous claims? All because GM removed some of the security features.
why sell a car that won't fit on European road, may be in Manhattan to JFK, better in Texas, cool in California, but not in Europe
Ironically, the pics at the beginning of this article are of the garden variety standard Escalade.
The Platinum Edition Escalade makes the standard model look naked. Platinum Edition Cadillacs have a more expensive looking/in your face grille treatment and an over the top high end interior decor.
High end interior, what more expensive plastic! It doesn't hold a candle to a Range Rover in any way what so ever. If you can possibly say it does then there is no way you've driven a Range Rover on and off road as they are sublime!
Keep this POS State side please!
These comments make me wonder: How many of you have ever set foot in a 2009 or newer Cadillac? The SRX and CTS easily run with their European counterparts. Too worried Cadillac is about to catch up?
Wow! what a bunch of cowards posting here not using their names to hate and call this gorgeous vehicle a POS. I have one of these 2008 M.Y. and it's the most reliable vehicle I have EVER purchase.Even the BMW and Mercedes folks acknowledge is the best full-size Luxury SUV and a real contender. Haters who can't stand to see their precious Nazimobiles been 2nd class against this American titan should be shot point blank in the face for their poor taste.

- This is a Gorgeous Vehicle? This is as reliable as unreliable. I am not going to be influenced by seeing these in Hollywood movies driven by fashionable people where producers of movies get payed by GM to promote their cars.
