Carscoop reader Marina tipped us off about an odd-looking micro car wearing Audi badges and a zebra stripe disguise that was caught filming at the Potsdamer Platz, which is a large public square located in the center of the city of Berlin in Germany.
The poster of the Youtube videos said that Audi was shooting a commercial for the car. While we've yet to hear something official from the German company, chances are the tiny model is a new Audi concept vehicle that will be revealed at the rapidly approaching 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in the second week of September.
In addition, given how busy the Potsdamer Platz is, we wouldn't be surprised if we learned that Audi chose the time and area on purpose to drum up some publicity around its new project.
From what we can tell from the two videos, the small city car seats two passengers in a tandem layout, while the fact that no noise can be heard from the vehicle, suggests that motivation comes either from a gasoline or (most likely) diesel-electric hybrid setup, or a pure electric drivetrain.
We'll probably have more details on Audi's new project before the opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned on Carscoop.
Thanks go to Marina for the video find!

I don't understand the concept for city car, does it mean when you get out of the city the car is no longer legal to drive ?
Does this remind anyone of Moulton Taylor's Aerocar?
What's the point of disguising it? The shape is pretty obvious: it looks like an insect.
now you know who had been posting all the so-called "spy scoop" photos. its the manufacturer themselves.
So, they came to shoot fully masked concept car, in the middle of the
day and the middle of the city, and they somehow forgot to mask teir
logo?! Yeah, right...
this car is only in our image, http://infocars365.com ^!^
