Oh China…Yema Auto Presents Clones of the Audi A4, VW Tiguan and Infiniti EX

|

Not too long ago, in a country far, far away, Yema Auto presented a clone of the previous generation Subaru Forester. The years passed and the force behind Yema Auto became stronger and stronger…

At this week's Chengdu Auto Show 2011, the Chinese automaker unleashed a second attack with a new breed of clones named the E-SUV, T-SUV and the F16.

In all cases, the pictures speak louder than words and it doesn't take an avid automobile aficionado to see that the T-SUV is a blatant rip-off of the Volkswagen Tiguan, the E-SUV China's doppelganger of the Infiniti EX crossover and the F16 and its commercial E-TAXI sibling, copies of the older Audi A4 Avant.

Scroll down to check out the fabulous work of Yema Auto…

Also, I guess the higher suspension if to fight the common potholes.

Liveforever said... »September 17, 2011

Just wait when they'll learn how to make cars.. that will be revolution

China can go to hell.

Except for the Wal-Mart folks.  Oh, and the kiddos that assemble the iPhone.

But the rest of China? Hell.

Damn the Chinese pirated movies on old CD/VCD/DVD's coasters, they are all passe...so 20th Cent.

The "higher margin" pirating profits are on copied premium cars of the Germans or Japanese (and have been for sometime) !

Betcha the same outside suppliers of Audi, VW and Infiniti (as in the cases above)...are the same (generic) parts suppliers of these copycat cars. These suppliers are complicit to the infringement copying by companies like Yema, etc...same design, same tooling (with some spec adjustments) all in the name of profits from cost cutting.

Hooray for reverse engineering (for the Chinese)....NOT!!

how could someone buy these cars and knowing that one day, a real audi would pass them and that theyd have to kill themselves..

Yong Thian Ding said... »September 17, 2011

I'm proud for being a Chinese ... XD

Lukeedee said... »September 17, 2011

That is shameful :o  i really hope they don't go home at night thinking they have done a good job !

Hajime Kishi said... »September 17, 2011

still cant believe they have no copyright laws whatsoever.

Kaveh said... »September 18, 2011

Wow, how do the Chinese not get sued for that?  Like they took a copy machine to the last car show.

auto said... »September 18, 2011

get over it.  At least they are making cars at a more realistic price, I just hope that their motors are as good as the originals.

Teverett335 said... »September 18, 2011

Wow, they really don't care do they?

Adompelsch said... »September 18, 2011

Looks like parts from original cars put on self-made body

Neinfectat De Comunism said... »September 18, 2011

nobody can stop these fraudsters, obviously they will not be able to sell this crap in Europe and US but they are free to sell it to the rest of the world and in mainland china..

WildStriker86 said... »September 18, 2011

What the heck is wrong with these Chinese? Jeez, Asia's dishonour.

braddo said... »September 18, 2011

If I worked for Audi - Infiniti or VW I would sue these barstards - Its intellectual property they are stealing, so farkin blatant! Have they NO SHAME??

Jhjhjhgfv said... »September 18, 2011

Fucking communists

Catalin said... »September 18, 2011

These look just funny, they have nothing in common with the actual original designs. The chinese somehow manage to botch the designs, to make them looks like parodies of the originals. Funny :)

Alexis said... »September 18, 2011

Dispicable and low, but what did you expect from the Chinese. Why can't they come up with their won designs, is it really that difficult? What they did now is produce cheap copies without any shame. They don't have any feeling for values or honour?

pb said... »September 18, 2011

Best of all, Yema use the old Austin Maestro as their platform.  This was hardly a classic design when it launched in 1983.

error_1205 said... »September 19, 2011

you people are all very funny!! first of all, chinese are very smart- americans and europeans wanted to earn a lot of money. they thought: we will exploit chinese as they will work a whole day for few grains of rice. and chinese did that for a last 20 years. now they produce everything and why wouldn't they take whole profit. one pair of branded snickers cost 1 US dollar (factory price). in a store in croatia that same pair costs 70-80 euro. we're still paying the same price as the products are made in domestic countries, but the profit is way more bigger when it's MADE IN CHINA!!

Steve said... »September 19, 2011

Chinese Auto Industry has: 1) no shame, 2) no intelligent deisgn, 3) no safety, 4) no reliability, 5) no taste, 6) no copy right, 7) no Amercian buyers...
I would not even buy tires made from China that last 50k miles. I would pay 200 dollars more for tires made in America that last 75,000 miles. now is that more expensive? you do the math. use the same formula for all products.

Cloning Acura logo too? :S

Kidding me? said... »September 26, 2011

No shame. No honor. The Chinese who do this and the Chinese government who allows this to happen are the parasites of the world. Let's not associate these people with other Asian cultures. Because they are not the same.

Hahahaha! said... »September 29, 2011

No shame?!?! Are you kidding me?!?! The Chinese are simply reciprocating the capitalist agenda all over again. Who revolutionized mass-scale capitalism? Western Europe. Who fu*ked up the whole world through colonialism? Western Europe. Who fu*ked up China in recent history? Western Europe and Japan. I'm not saying that China is better, since the country has done its share of fu*king up other people and countries, but China has had a looooooong history of getting its own technologies CLONED TO FU*KING DEATH. I'm not Chinese, but I can understand their mentality. Honor?!?! Bah! Such an illusion, you fu*ked up hypocrites. The Chinese are adaptable; such is why China still exists to this day, from its unification of thousands of years ago. You exploit China, but they turn that exploitation into opportunity. Gee, it's no wonder why numerous Chinese companies are helping desperate and debt-driven Western companies. He*l, even China is one of the largest holders of US debt. So yea, fu*k you self-righteous, ethnocentric Western dykes.

Donghun Kim said... »September 30, 2011

if tour going to clone, at least make them better. this is bullcrap

What the f'k said... »September 30, 2011

And they're sold for $1.00 at your local Dollar stores!! Get them while they last!

royalmm said... »October 01, 2011

Wow... those look like crap. Seriously China, WTF?!

Lawrence said... »October 24, 2011

Yes, however tempted over the years, all those honorable Western automakers were loathe to copy the Mercedes big box grille......

ssalameda said... »October 24, 2011

I am Chinese, and I do not like these clones at all!  Proportions are all wrong and ugly (to put mildly). I think Chinese should have higher standard in design than these elementary-student level products.

Flossythesheep said... »February 16, 2012

Oooh, an ill-proportioned Audi A4 clone on an Austin Maestro chassis you say? Assembled in China you say? Where do I sign?

Mortaman11c said... »February 24, 2012

The body looks the same, but the quality is lacking, the drivetrain will be from some thirty year old design that they stole. They cant be sued because the foreign companies will have to go to China to sue them. That case is lost before it starts. This is what they get any way. its Chinese law that for a foreign company to operate in China they have to take a Chinese partner. So lets say Audi takes a Chinese partner shares all of their technology so that these cars can be built in China as per their agreement. How long before those partnerships are not re-newed and they kick the foreign companies out. You cant trust China and they should all know that, they are just greedy.

Jasir Shareef said... »November 24, 2012

Another bunch of 'clones' from China. What else is new?

As long as these companies get customers for cars like these in China, they'll keep churning them out. Unless other car companies start copyrighting each and every aspect of their design, from runabouts to supercars, nothing's going to stop them.

Once China discovers their own design style, this cloning business will slowly disappear.
