Over the past few months we've brought you pictures of camouflaged prototypes, the loosely disguised concept and even the patent designs of the next 2012 Honda CR-V, but today, thanks to our tipster Andy Ye, we bring you the first official images of the final production model.
Not surprisingly, the styling changes over the concept CR-V we saw this summer are restricted to the matte finish of the plastic cladding on the body, the smaller wheels and the clear graphics on the headlamps and tail lamps.
Honda has previously said that its new SUV will be "more sophisticated and dynamic" than its predecessor while also offering improved interior space and versatility as well as a suit of new technologies.
The company has remained tight-lipped about the engines that will be available on the new CR-V, but it is believed that the North American model will reach U.S. showrooms at the end of November or early December with a more powerful yet at the same time more fuel efficient version of the current 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Europeans should expect a choice of smaller displacement four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines when it arrives in the fall of 2012.
The 2012 Honda CR-V will make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show in mid-November with the JDM model to debut a couple of weeks later at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.
A very big hat tip to Andy Ye!

Another styling diaster by honda
I hope it comes with a 6 speed auto.
ugly
its a fail. I thought from the first few pictures that hit the internet it would look good but if this is the end product all i can say is fail except the dashboard which looks great but then again it looks great in the hyundai genesis sedan too
this car is not ugly at all... the design is well balanced and details are both interesting and inoffensive at once. it does however, seem a bit Volvo meets Lexus in a way. I like it, and believe that it will look really well on the road.
Hunch-back design. Yech!
4 of the 13 photos in the photo gallery are of "nothing"... Why? To relieve stress on the eyes when looking at such a hideous design?
Still prefer the original (first version) CR-V
The only thing more yawn-inducing than a redesign from Honda is a redesign from Toyota.
wow, that rear is barf-able. My how far Honda has fallen. I used to love their Accords and Civics of the 80-90s.
well balanced? in what way the front end is to large for the large for th car the rear end doesnt flow with the rest of the lines it looks like a bloated version of the last one with the crosstours front end thats not balance thats just poor desighn
WOW this is an interesting post. The car has got a stunning beauty. Loved it...
Dude, just wait to see it on the road. You are looking at a single angle shot - and if I may say so myself - you might be lacking in imagination... if not English.
