The news just keeps dropping in on the revamped 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe after its first public appearance during the Korea Speed Festival 2011 in Yeongam, South Korea, this past weekend.
Today, we got our hands on a fresh batch of official photos plus the Korean domestic market [KDM] brochure that provides us with a few more details on the rear-wheel drive coupe's specifications, namely the acceleration figures and fuel economy numbers.
The flagship Genesis Coupe with the 350PS (345HP) 3.8-liter V6 engine completes the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 5.9 seconds while returning a combined fuel efficiency (in the Korean driving cycle) of 9.6km/lt (22.6mpg US or 10.4lt/100km) with CO2 emissions of 227g/km.
The base version of the coupe that is now equipped with the Sonata Turbo's 275PS (271HP) 2.0-liter unit goes from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in 7.2 seconds with a combined fuel economy of 11km/lt (25.9mpg US or 9.1lt/100km) with CO2 emissions of 212g/km.
Both models are offered with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox and a new optional 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 2013 Genesis Coupe should reach North American showrooms in the first half of 2012.

Too busy in the front ... I'm out =( I was a fan of the last one (much cleaner look) ...
I love how the model's clothes match the colors of the car.
Look at that great pairs of knockers, they worth at least as much as the car.
0 to 62 in 5.9 secs for a car with 345hp is pathetic! The Honda Accord has 100 less hp and can do the run in the same time. Either those published times are way conservative or the Hyundai hype is about to die. Hyundai needs a sub 5 sec car ASAP!
Agree. There is no way an Asian model can be that busty al naturale.
Nice rack

Even a 2012 camry V6 gets to 60mph faster than this and that has 80hp less!
the standard G37 coupe gets to 60 in 5.2 seconds :S
Either they are over exaggerating their HP figures or the car is way too heavy but something aint right with the that power figure and 0-60 time. Im sure a camry must be heavier than this so how the hell is it faster :S its not even a sports car!
Not quite as pathetic as your claim!
Just go and actually try to find a 0-62 manufacturer declaration for the Honda Accord V6. You'll find it to be a 0-60 one. Even Road & Track could only squeeze a 0-60 of 5.9s for the Accord Coupe V6.
That is one sweet car!
You are all boob experts, then you should know they impede good manipulation of the gear shift lever and their added weight pushes you back in the seat lifting your foot off the hot button. Also the rapid jiggling is very detracting.
When are auto adverts accurate.

This is a great post. I run the blog over at Good Apps where we review game apps and other good apps. I have a car app coming up to review. Would it be possible for me to quote your site and and a backlink for my readers to follow you? Most people like that, but I always find it best to ask. Another great post though. Keep it up!
This is the most hyped up mid-cycle refresh I've ever seen. Big deal, they modified some plastic and tweaked the mechanicals. The performance of a 345hp engine is unimpressive, and the 2.0 engine's performance is isn't spectacular either.
It still seems slow.
0~60mph = 92kmh only~
they are just nearly the same in 0~100kmh
don't know how to calculate KM and M ?
so why 2012 camry V6 and G37 coupe got related time in 0~60mph
is G37 a rubbish?
Also 2012 Camry V6 does it in 5.8... wouldn't want to be embarrassed at the lights :))
plastic surgery capital of asia. korea.
Finally, the Sonata 271 Hp motor. Thanks for the correction regarding the 'combined' mileage.
Lets hope they also brought back the 2.0 Track version. If so, I get a new car next year.
Now the front end looks to industrial. Prefer the earlier iteration. It's a car, not a Mack truck Hyundai and Mazda.
Will have to see live, the detail changes to the dash and console too decide on those changes.
Still your only choice for a fun to drive, sporty handling RWD sport coupe in this segment. Light and nimble with high handling limits with the '2.0 Turbo'.
Stereotypes are just that. Stereotypes. And you just made one. A very false one. Open your eyes.
You know, at first I was saying the same thing about front the first time I saw it, but I think it's growing on me. And with the extra horses, a test drive will definitely be in order. I'm a little disappointed with the interior though. Hopefully there will be some more tweaks with the sport models.
I assume with the Gen Coupe refresh, the RACK and pinion steering mechanism got that much needed FEEL to it...
Yes I agree this is
great one I expose the instruction impress to read the posting thanks By

Per capita, that would be Japan.
Hmm, I see lot of American people kind of confused, the information is showing 0-62mph, not the regular 0-60mph commonly seen in US. By simple math, if the Gen Coupe is tested on a 0-60mph, for sure will do less, it is just matter of testing it. The Mustang V6 does the 0-60mph in 5.1, there is no info about a 0-62mph.
Remember there is a whole world outside that uses other measurement systems, not everybody talks about mph or mpg or Farenheit, or feet. There are other using Km/h, ltr./100Km, or Celsius.
Personally, I think this car looks good, but we have to see the real performance on the real life track.
To bad...the large grill opening with blacked out center section didn't work with Mitsubishi either. It shows they stumbled onto the good looks of the 2012 model by accident.
REALLY DON'T CARE FOR THE NEW FRONT END. I OWN A 2010 AND WOULD NEVER HAV PURCHASED THE CAR IF IT HAD THE "NEW LOOK." SEEMS LIKE THEY RAN OUT OF IDEAS AND PLASTERED ON A PIECE OF PLAIN METAL ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE GRILLE. TRIED TO MAKE IT MEAN LOOKING. THEY MADE IT UGLY LOOKING. PARK A '10 OR '11 NEXT TO IT AND COMPARE!
