Famed BMW tuning house Alpina showed up at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show with a world premiere, the limited edition B3 GT3 of which only 99 examples will be built, each carrying a price tag of €90.000 (approx. US$120,000) in Germany.

The B3 GT3 is based on the regular 3-Series Coupe and it uses a slightly modified version the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six found in Alpina’s B3 S Bi-Turbo sedan, coupe and touring models.

Thanks to a different exhaust system and a titanium rear silencer made by Akrapovic the three-liter unit gains 8 more ponies lifting output to 408-horses at 6,000rpm and 540Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque at 4500rpm.

Alpina says that the B3 GT3 completes the standard sprint from standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.6 seconds and tops out at 300km/h (187mph).

Beyond the engine upgrades, the B3 GT3 also gets high performance brake system with 6-piston fixed callipers at the front and 4-piston fixed callipers at the rear, with discs measuring 380 x 35 mm at the front and 355 x 32 mm at the rear. An adjustable sports suspension and Alpina’s classic 19-inch forged alloy wheels complete the mechanical updates.

On the outside, the limited edition model bonds Alpina’s traditional green hue with races-spec livery, while also sporting a number of aerodynamic features such as the carbon front splitter, dive plates mounted on the side of the front valence, a carbon rear wing and a black matt diffuser at the back.

As for the interior, the B3 GT3 features a pair of lightweight Recaro sport seats dressed in a combination of leather and Alcantara and a sports steering wheel with paddles that is finished in Alcantara with blue and green stitching.
