Talk About Dodging a Bullet: Extremely Close Call with Semi Truck Caught on Film

|

This in one of those cases that not one person would believe how close you came to meeting your maker without video proof. Fortunately for us, the driver of the car involved in this close call had a dashboard mounted camera that recorded the entire incident on film.

Basically, what we have here are two careless drivers that created a potentially deadly accident scene with their foolish actions as both attempted to overtake a vehicle on a relatively narrow road under freezing conditions. See how it went down in the video after the break.

Thanks for the tip Miranda and Alexey!

The car in front of the camera car brake too hard and he had no place to go but left. He was not trying to overtake, he was trying to stop is car safely. I see only one careless - stupid, murderer - driver.

The forward-thinking of the driver in the white van really did save his own life and others by stopping and pulling over. Even the vehicle with the camera that attempted to overtake was slowed just enough too!

The three drivers bringing their vehicles to a stop averted a really messy situation. Only the driver of the semi was most foolish. He has to realize he isn't driving a mini or something.

Even if the semi driver made a big mistake, an irresponsable one, watch the last part of his driving.
His skills are amazing, watch closely the wheels and you will se that he stopped braking and managed to straighten the semi, because otherwise the crash would have taken place. It is very likely that he accelerated in the final part to pull the towed part and straighten it, to avoid the car. Also by doing his manouver he avoided the car  heading for the parapet.
He is just another skiild driver but with bad habbits.

Notice the white police SUV after snowplow(?) and smaller cars are passed by the lucky camera car.
I have a feeling the semi was about to get pulled over after the officer saw that close call. Pulling out to go around a plow that had it's orange flashers on without clear road ahead is STUPID.

Police SUV? No, it's russian Lada Priora.

Dear Carscoop: look a little bit harder: it is obvious they are not trying to overtake but to stop without hitting the van. Few more alert viewers pointed it out already.
