The Year of the Sports Car at California's Mulholland Drive

As one of the most scenic roads in Los Angeles County, the Mulholland Highway is a popular destination for car drivers and motorcyclists alike.

Over the past year, a camera crew recorded many sports cars that made their way pass the twisty roadways and strung together a video with some of the most eye-catching models.

The cars seen in the film range from the new McLaren MP4-12C to a classic Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic (we believe this is a replica owned by Jay Leno), and from an Atom Ariel to the Audi e-tron Spyder Concept.

Buckle up and head over the jump to enjoy the video.

There's an idiot in every crowd

All the old machines were able to take the corners better than the hi-tech, newer exotics.  Probably just a case of morons with money who can't drive.

The one that really blew my mind was the e-tron spyder.

A lot of nice cars out there.  That Bentley was getting on it.  Fun.

Don't Cross that 'Double Yellow' Line in California.

My last ticket ever, was many years ago going down the Twisty grade East of Clear lake, California.  I was passing Semis on my crotch rocket at very high 'Go Directly to Jail' speeds, and when I came down into the valley a Black & White was waiting for me, I thought I was going to jail.  I directed the officer over to some shade and parked, thinking, this is it, seven states, 5,500 hi-speed miles in 25 days, and I was finally going to have to pay the Piper.   The officer handed me my paper work back and mentioned that he should impound the bike because of rear tire wear(Tire had been brand new 5,500 miles ago) and said, we don't care how fast you were going, just don't pass on a double yellow in California.   And, If you stop in Williams and pay the ticket, it won't show up on your Oregon record, but hurry up, cause I'm taking the court clerk to lunch.  I waited till after lunch and then payed my ticket, it never showed on Oregon record.

I hit I-5 North, it took quite a few miles for me to quit thinking of the stunning beauty the lucky officer was taking to lunch.

Thumbs up to the Audi E-tron roadster

Staking out officers on this road just proves that all that really matters to these guys is filling quotas. O.J. knows from experience that it is perfectly acceptable to murder your family, but if you commit a minor traffic violation (on a clear road) in a politically incorrect Lamborghini, the village will come with their torches and pitchforks.
