Lexus Shows Off LF-LC Sports Coupe in New Photos

|

Lexus' most recent creation, the LF-LC Sports Coupe Concept, is set to debut in less than a week from now at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, but that hasn't stopped the Japanese company from dropping a couple more fresh pictures for our viewing pleasure.

Toyota's luxury division still won't say what's hiding under the LF-LC's long hood, though we do know for a fact that it's a hybrid powertrain.

So what else do we know about the concept model? Well, according to the Japanese firm's Spartan press release, it was penned at the company’s Calty studio in Newport Beach, California and it's supposed to preview the next evolution of Lexus' design language - and that's about all we get for now.

As always, we'll be following the story and update you as soon as we get more information and/or another set of photos.

Yes, I love it, inside and out.

Bravo Lexus.....now please deliver us a production version some time in the next 18 months.
Something around 370Z money......

Cheers.

I'm usually not a fan of over the top concepts, but I really like this.

Seems to me that modern designs are the stuff we used to draw when we were 6 years old.  I picked the wrong profession.

As much as I like this concept, I see Lexus taking minimum of another 18 mo (conservative) to release the production version and it will likely be offered with a price starting in the mid-$70K range & loaded closer to 90K. At that price spectrum, I'm sure the technology & luxury will be very nice however it will have some fierce competitors from within the ultra-luxury new & used market.  Lexus should focus on getting competitive cars to market much faster - their long process between teaser concepts and final production model hinders sales.

Thats more than just sexy :o

Steve said... »January 04, 2012

huh??? base on what do you think the price is going to be 90k, the last LFA costs 375k

AstonMartin said... »January 04, 2012

This is not an LFA Steve, the LF-LC is a SC replacement.  My estimate is in line with such a luxury car - not the LFA supercar that it will merely share similar looks yet a completely different hybrid engine.

Yeeeeeessss. Build it exactly like that and you will get a following again. As nice as what the SC400 represented. DO NOT WATER IT DOWNNNNNN.

I know this is a concept, However who's suppose to sit in the back seat? Looking at Lexus history with concepts, if this car goes into production it will not look anything like the concept.

Beautiful Stance...beautyfull car!

Not the same old European styling definitely has the Japanese...LFA... kinda look. Completely different and one of a kind.

What's up with the new Lexus front end?

ne1butu said... »January 05, 2012

This design is clearly a response to people saying the Toyota builds boring cars. I like most everything about this, but I do feel that the front end design is a massive overcorrection. The nike swoosh serves no purpose and looks like an afterthought. The grille is a Dali nightmare. Regardless, 95% of this car is pure awesome. And that's coming from someone who hasn't had anything positive about any Toyota in at least fifteen years.

I would assume the production version will be toned down somewhat because of the sharp edges (can damage pedestrians when you run them over ;-)) I would however be very interested in what type of engine they will mate the hybrid powertrain to. Let's hope it will be at least a V6, or V8... Turbo 4 or 6 inline would be interesting as well
