We first heard about Renault’s plans to decimate its model lineup in Britain due to poor sales in a report back in December, and now it’s officially official with the French brand providing more details on the changes.

The Renault models no longer available for sale in the UK are the Modus small MPV, the Kangoo passenger and commercial vans, the Wind roadster, the Laguna and the Espace MPV.

In addition, Renault has discontinued all Gordini variants while the core Twingo Renaultsport 133 range has been slimmed down to a single version.

So what’s left for British consumers? Starting from February 1st, the new Renault range comprises seven core passenger and van models, including the revised Twingo city car, the Clio supermini and Sport Tourer, the Megane Hatch, Coupe, Sport Tourer and CC, the Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs, the Traffic Van, plus the RenaultSport variants.

The French brand said that it would add models from its Z.E. electric vehicle range such as the Twizy and Fluence sedan later in the year while it will also start pre-launch activities for the Dacia brand in the second half of 2012.
