It's only been on the market for three years but Hyundai is already prepping the i20 supermini for a facelift, the first since its introduction at the Paris Motor Show in 2008.
Our man with the long lens spotted a prototype model during winter testing in Europe wearing heavy camouflage around the front and rear ends as well as the door panels.
Despite the cladding, we can see that the front headlamps are new and feature the same "wave" accents under the main beam as in the most recent Hyundai models such as the i30 hatch and i40 sedan/estate.
In fact, the styling of the entire fascia including the bumper as well as the rear end of the updated i20 are expected to be heavily inspired from i40 while we may also see a stronger belt line on the car's profile.
Our spy shooter also told us that the test car's interior was completely covered suggesting that Hyundai will most likely make changes to the design of the dashboard as well.
Look for the facelifted i20 making its debut this year with European sales to start before the end of 2012.

Where is the replacement for the current Elantra Touring, with this model beginning in Europe with the '07 model year?Love the chassis setup on my 2010.Thanks!
Good to see Hyundai completely renovating its European range. Both the i10 and the i20 were burdened with moribund styling when they were launched. The i10 facelift has only been partially successful in my view - the frontal 'fluidic' treatment at odds with the tall slabby sides - but the i20 changes look to be more substantial.
Some companies offer discounts to motorists who drive a lower than average number of miles a year. Low mileage discounts can also apply to drivers who car pool to work. "Clearance Auto" is the place you should be if you need auto insurance at the best price
