Driving a minivan with passengers stowed in the cargo area is a stupid move in itself but doing it with the tailgate open is just criminal as you're asking for trouble.
And trouble is what these feloniously mindless parents got when two of the kids in the boot area…fell out of the Citroen Berlingo! Luckily, the van wasn't speeding and there was no vehicle following on from behind, so the two youngsters got up by themselves. Evidently shaken but not seriously hurt.

why were those two fat ladies not seated in the back of the trunk, that would have given the car a much better weight distribution, and none of the kids would have fallen out.

They must have thought their girls were in the back. Father must havee been pissed when he discovered it was the boys.
Looks as if the children managed to open the hatch from the inside as you can see the hatch slowly moving upwards in the video. Big sister was getting a chew-out for not watching the two castaways. Dad didn't seem too pleased with one of the culprits as he yanks hims toward the van. Ahhhhh, family life.

Actually, if u review the video again. The tailgate got open while the Berlingo was approaching to the camera and certainly the youngsters were leaning again it.
After being sure someone has fell off the van, the driver goes in reverse !! WTF
