At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Lotus displayed a concept version of the Evora coupe developed in collaboration with Mansory.
The German tuning house also worked on the Evora GTE and other special Lotus versions such as the carbon fiber-bodied Evora GTE that was unveiled last month in Geneva.
Today, Lotus announced that from now on, Mansory will be its official customization studio. The German company will work closely with Lotus’ engineers on special editions of the Elise, the Exige and the Evora and the first samples of this collaboration will appear at the Paris Motor Show in September.
“Mansory are leaders in their field and having worked closely with them on the Evora GTE and the special editions we’ve unveiled recently”, said Wolf Zimmerman, Chief Technical Officer of Group Lotus. “We now wish to take the partnership to an official level. Together, I am confident we will continue to produce outstanding sports cars, with the bespoke qualities that many of our discerning customers look for.”
For his part, Kourosh Mansory commented: “At Mansory, we have always been passionate about British cars and the cooperation with Lotus is the perfect partnership as it meets our quality standard of production on the highest technical level combined with masterly craftsmanship and the most precious materials.”

Eugh, Mansory. Its really rather tasteless, but this link-up seems like a sound move by Lotus if they want to get their brand noticed. It will go down a storm in Dubai, Singapore and Beijing and all the other parts of the world with more money than taste!
Looks kind of sharp in red, but it's interesting how this neon red color has become so fashionable as a theme with so many manufacturers. Disappointing the way those who make the final decisions on the aesthetics seem to all be jumping on the bandwagon of this trend. It demonstrates a distinct lack of originality or creative thought.
And I agree with Sparkopolo, all these Evora paint schemes lack good taste, as does the design itself. They all have a kind of gaudy flaunting approach that is not really what Lotus has stood for in the past. I wouldn't buy an Evora because it is a failure in this respect.
The Exige, which I rather like the look of, is having the same issues. With each succeeding attempt to make them more appealing to a certain market, they become less appealing to my eye.
Just typing "Mansory" in google images makes me wanna gouge my eyes out. They're a really tasteless tunning company. The "Vincero" Veyron is just a Veyron ruined with a tacky interior, paintjob and rims. The Panamera they presented is ought to be one of the most eye hurting things to ever be called "a car" with it's bodykit and it's hideous blue-yellow colour combination. They also seem to goldplate EVERYTHING. Because as you, and all Saudi millionaires, know, a car's worth is only measured in the amount of gold in it. So vulgar...
Seriously, Bahar is killing Lotus. Please Zombie Colin Champan, come and save your company!
Is it April 1st?
A step backward for a company trying desperately to take steps forward.
Oh no. Bad decision for Lotus.... Mansory is known for their tasteless mods...
Can't wait to see the next Evora or Exige full of pink carbon fiber with some 21'' rims... :/
Sad sad day for Lotus...
Lotus must be in such weak health. They chose an after-market focused manufacturer to make 'OEM' parts for them. And then to rub salt in the wound Lotus look like they were forced to declare to end customers that Mansory are the driving force for these 'improved' OEM models.
Still, while being a loss to the Chapman legacy, as Sparkopolo rightly says this lipstick will go down a storm in the new new world.
