Some of you were right to assume that we wouldn’t have to wait until the grand opening of the 2012 Beijing Auto Show on April 23 to see the first images of Lamborghini’s highly anticipated SUV concept, and well, here they are.

Previously known simply as the Lamborghini SUV, the license plate on the concept reveals that its actual name is Urus, which most likely comes from an extinct type of large wild cattle that inhabited Europe.

Unlike the VW Group’s other premium crossover concept, the Bentley EXP 9 F that sports a regular SUV body style, the Urus is more like the BMW X6 featuring a coupe-like roofline and silhouette.

On the outside, it adopts the same aircraft-inspired design language as Lamborghini’s most recent creations like the Aventador, which also inspired the styling of the interior.

We don’t have any information to go with the pictures, but there’s a good chance the Urus shares the same platform architecture as the Bentley EXP 9 F and the next Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg models, with power possibly coming from a V10 engine.

We’ll keep looking and keep you updated on what we find.
