Make Your Car Sound Like a Lamborghini Gallardo for only 99¢ [Videos]

True, there are some ways to make your car's engine sound more sonorous, but there's really so much you can do for example to a Chevy Aveo or a Toyota Prius.

Furthermore, with a starting price of 99 cents, 2XCL Games' new XLR8 (get it; accelerate) sounds like a sweet bargain compared to the cost(s) of an actual mechanical component.

The XLR8 is an app available for Apple's iPhone and iPad as well as Android phones and tablets that promises to make your vehicle sound like an exotic Italian supercar, a muscle car or even a racing model.

After you download the application and place the phone in your vehicle, you simply connect the device to the audio system and you're ready to go – just don’t forget to roll up your windows…

"Once secured inside your vehicle, XLR8 uses the accelerometers of your device to realistically respond to acceleration, braking and cornering forces," explains the software provider. "It supports both cabled and wireless Bluetooth audio connections to your car stereo."

2XCL Games says that the sounds have been recorded from real life cars and that you can adjust the various settings.

Currently, there are six available car sounds to choose from including the Chevrolet Camaro V8, the Lamborghini Gallardo V10, the Ferrari 458 Italia V8, a NASCAR V8 racer and a Ford GT40 V8.

The $0.99 pack gets you one car with 2XCL Games charging from $0.99 to $2.99 for additional sounds while also offering a complete package for $4.99.

We haven't tried it out yet to know if the app is worth it, but if you do, hit the comments area below and share your thoughts. In the meantime, scroll down to watch the XLR8 in action in the official videos.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

I heard thjey are setting one up for Russia with pedestrians screaming and cursing and tires shreaking and metal crushing. By 2013 they will have the smell of burnig rubber, electrical fire and dirtied briefs.

What a bullshit - buy a real one with real engine, instead of those gay-cars with personality problems...
