The most expensive and luxurious version of Mini’s three-door hatchback, the ‘Mini Inspired by Goodwood‘, has gone on display in prime position at the famous department store Harrods in London to celebrate the delivery of the first customer cars.

The new Mini model, which was developed under the guidance of the Rolls-Royce designer team, will also be visible from inside the Knightsbridge store where the British carmaker has placed display screens that provide information about the car. In addition, a member staff from Mini’s flagship Park Lane showroom will be on hand so customers can find out more about the car or even place an order.

“Harrods is delighted to be showcasing such an iconic British brand,” said Guy Cheston, Harrods Director of Media Sale. “The store attracts an average of 42,000 visitors every day from over 130 different countries every month. What better place than Harrods to showcase the most luxurious production MINI has ever built to a truly global audience.”

The Mini Inspired by Goodwood went on display at Harrods on April 8 and will remain there until April 22.

Production of the special edition model will be limited to 1,000 units with UK pricing starting at £41,005 (€49,700 or US$65,400).

Among other features that make the MINI Inspired by Goodwood special (and ridiculously expensive…) are the Rolls-Royce-sourced leathers that covers most parts of the interior, Walnut Burr trim, cashmere roof linings, sun visors and rear storage tray, and deep-pile lambs wool used to make the floor mats.

On the outside, the limited production model features an exclusive Rolls-Royce colour Diamond Black metallic, while riding on 17-inch light alloy multi-spoke wheels.

Power comes from the stock model’s 181hp (184PS) 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbo engine.
