Imagine driving on a quiet street at low speeds when of all a sudden, without any warning or another car involved, your vehicle goes flying into the air.
Crazy as it may sound, this is what happened to a driver of a Land Rover Freelander earlier today in the Russian resort city of Sochi, which by the way, will host the 2014 Olympics Winter Games…
If you watch the first video that was shot from a dash mounted camera on a following vehicle (don't take into consideration the date, it's wrong), you'll be inclined to believe that the SUV fell into an uncovered sewage hole on the road causing it to flip over.
But that's not the case as a second clip sourced from a security camera (you can't do anything these days without being watched…) shows that the sewage hole was partially and dare we say, sloppily covered with a metal mesh frame. From what we understand, the metal frame must have popped up and wedged itself on the British vehicle hurling it into the air.
At least the driver managed to walk out of the vehicle alive with a little help of some by passers.

Very very dangerous O_O
Man, what are the chances of this happening?
1. Manhole explodes
2. A car happened to be driving over it
3. There was a van right behind it
4. The van happened to have a dash cam rolling
5. A fixed surveillance camera happened to be aiming at that exact angle.
Miracle!
This can be a good cue for final destination 6 !!
What are the chances of this happening?
1. Mannhole cover is missing.
2. A car was using the road!
3. Another car was using the road!
4. A Russian vehicle had a camera? Never heard of that!
5. Surveillance Cameras...what...in Russia...never!
hahahahaha good one!
Doesn't it seem staged? This is probably the first vehicular "accident" I saw very well caught on camera - and two cameras at that. I had a friend who went through the same thing and their only footage of the accident was taken after. The title was right when it described it as "unbelievable!"
The Manhole cover was in place, check the first video of the surveillance cam!
Every thing seems to be soothed like film.

oh godddd this is horor ,,,,,,,,,
What was in this sewer???
I don't think the manhole cover actually blew. Looks like the car snagged the grate laying over the hole. The reactive force of the grate and ring (notice there is not a cover over the manhole) being flung from the hole pushed the car into the air. This scenario could easily be staged although I'm not sure why anyone would sacrifice a vehicle in this way except for maybe insurance or lawsuit purposes.
Obviously you never seen the manhole covers we have here in Eastern Europe... that's what happened indeed as they have no protection whatsoever.
Heard quite a few stories of this thing happening, but never actually seen one caught on camera.
Russian driver: I confirm that small surveillance cameras mounted inside the car are very popular in Russia, they're very helpful for defending yourself in corrupted Russian courts. I do have one. As for fixed cameras, they are also widely used in big cities, and Sochi is a big city.
why would they stage that with an expensive vehicle?
actually the proper manhole cover wasn't in place, it just had a piece of metal square grid thing over it....the hold is actually round
WOW. That must have sucked. what was that that came out of the windshield? -awautoglass.com
fake... what crap. get a new job. Hollywood does a better coverup
Apparently in Russia everyone has cameras running in their carf because the norm (for other drivers)is to ignore all laws and crash into anyone and then bribe the police.
I've been there myself after the crash, its true accident.
P.S.Sochi is small city. But expensive like Miami,or even more expensive...
or maybe #25!
OOOhhh... no, that's dangerous...
The near side front wheel dropping & jamming in the manhole is clearly what caused this, not an exploding manhole...
