Nissan's presence at the ongoing 2012 New York Auto Show is marked by the world premiere of the 2013 Altima mid-size sedan, which is a very important model for the Japanese automaker.
In 2011, the current Altima ranked as the second best-selling passenger car in the U.S behind the Toyota Camry. Nissan believes that the new model can do even better.
"The new Altima hits the consumer bulls-eye dead center by delivering a balance of style, performance and value that will continue to make it one of the most popular cars in America," said the company's CEO, Carlos Ghosn at a press conference in New York.
The 2013 Altima will arrive in showrooms this July at a starting MSRP of $21,500 and a choice of two gasoline engines, a redesigned 182-horsepower 2.5-liter four-pot and a 270hp 3.5-liter V6, both matched to a standard Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

I don't like it, it's ugly. The new Nissan's are looking more and more like Infinities, and I don't like the way they look either.
Specifically the headlights, the grill, the hood, the taillights *gag* The profile isn't too awful, but I would never buy this car.
Looks good. I think it will stand out on the road.
just the right amount of "awesome"...for the midsize class...topnotch!
I actually like the styling, it isn't bland like the ES but not ridiculous like the new Project Kahn Range Rover. I think the styling is fairly assertive and family friendly. This probably won't be as appealing as the Mazda 6 when it comes out.
it is so original and fresh!
the front end screams last gen honda accord. How do you design this poorly when you can make such a better looking maxima. Nobody wants boring asian garbage... look at the sonata or optima. This design pales in comparison. As for the interior, it is only getting rave reviews because the old interior was SO FAR BEHIND. This model will undoubtedly sell well if it is reliable based on customer loyalty and the American blind way of purchasing cars. At this price point i just cant justify spending money on this when the Optima, Fusion, Passat, or maxima exist for that matter.
Nissan is a great manufacturer of vehicles. It looks great and you'll know it'll last forever. Good job Nissan.....can't wait to see what the new Maxima will look like.
Why am I thinking I rather have the Kia Optima in a big way! There is nothing and I mean nothing about this care excites me. Wow if this is the road Nissan is taking with the next models they will be unveiling in the coming months this surely is a bad sign of things to come...
Hahahah there's a typo in the video at 0:01 seconds.. The title says ALITIMA!
Pretty embarassing...
