For the 2012 model year, Renault’s Master van range has received some modest equipment changes such as the availability of new audio systems and the introduction of an air-suspension, plus a revised engine lineup.
The Master’s uprated 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel unit is now available in three power outputs with 100hp, 125hp and 150hp. Renault says fuel consumption has been cut this year by up to 0.6 liters/100km while CO2 emissions are down by up to 16g/km (7.5lt/100 km and 197 g/km for the L1H1, 125hp version).
Other improvements in brief include a new selection of improved audio systems with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an optional, adjustable air suspension for front-wheel drive Masters that maintains a constant ride-height regardless of load, a new Pearlescent Black exterior finish and a new smartphone dock.
In addition, Renault has also introduced towing equipment with a capacity of 3.5 tonnes for twin-wheel, rear-wheel drive versions of the Master.
The French automaker says the Master currently holds a 15-percent share of the large van market in Europe and nearly 27 percent in France.
