With its sights set on those who aren't satisfied with Ford's retro-modern take of the original pony car yet still want all the advantages that come with a new car, Missouri-based Retrobuilt is expanding its range of 1969 Shelby Mustangs with the addition of a convertible model.
As with Retrobuilt's existing 1969 Shelby GT 500CS Fastback and Mustang GT Fastback models, the 1969 Shelby GT500CS Convertible can be based on any open-top, fifth-generation Ford Mustang (S-197) built from 2005 and onwards.
The conversion package replaces all body panels sans the doors with fiberglass parts, and adds new headlamps and taillights, chrome trim, vinyl striping and a Shelby wheel and tire combo to mimic the looks of the original 1969 model.
Available options include a racing package that bundles a supercharger boosting the V8 model's output up to 500hp, Baer performance brakes, a lowered sports suspension and other parts.
For pricing information, you will have to contact Retrobuilt directly.

That has got to be one of the best looking retro conversions I've seen.
I agree... the rear is just a tad too tall (the chrome bumper piece looks too high up on the bumper assembly), but other than that, these guys make a terrific retro kit. If I owned a convertible, I would consider this kit. Even better than this kit is the 1969 GT kit... if I owned the coupe, I would get one of those kits and do a replica '69 Mach I!
That looks awesome..
I don't know what their other conversions look like, but this one is seriously tacky.
The sleek front looks disproportional to the disastrously bad rear which seems to be heavier than a G-Class!
Awful, awful back with brutal replica-grade trunk panel gaps!
Place the original and this conversion side-by-side—then you'll see the atrocities. This conversion is effeminate; looks like a conversion; is just so wrong on so many levels.
Nice lines on the hood/left fender...not to mention the tail pipes are off too..hideous to boot
