Although connoisseurs will appreciate the upcoming 991 Turbo, hardcore fans of the 911 series with a taste for track days and of course, the Nürburgring circuit, will no doubt turn their attention towards the next GT3, which our spies snapped virtually undisguised while roaming on public streets in Germany.
The most track-biased model of the 991 series yet can be identified by the double-edge rear wing, its wider rear hips, a more pronounced front bumper with larger air intakes and a front splitter, the different side skirts, central exhaust pipes and bigger wheels.
The new GT3 is expected to be notably lighter than the last model while its flat-six engine will be tuned to deliver close to 500-horses.
At this stage, it is unclear whether Porsche will replace the previous model's 6-speed manual gearbox with a seven-speed stick shift or as some reports have suggested, a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission. Either way, the next GT3 will be a rear-wheel drive only model.
We could see the production version of the 991 GT3 as early as this September at the Paris Motor Show.

Love it. The windshield doesn't look as steep as on previous versions. Might be due to the fact that the car is a bit longer now. Looks a lot better either way, glad they finally sorted that out. Can't wait to see the different versions. Gonna be mental on the track... not that I will ever get a drive....
Ah, finally Porsche is starting to produce some good looking cars. Most of their latest redesigns have been big improvements.
waw that actually looks quite good, what i dont like about porsche is that why does it need to have so many versions, a hardcore version and then an even more hardcore version whats the point, just make it the fastest...anyway cant wait for the 918
If it goes PDK only, my interest in the GT3 rapidly goes south. I respect some cars with shifting paddles, like Ferrari's 458, but Porsche's reason to make a thoroughbred, like the GT3, with a PDK only transmission would just be to cater to their lazy ass wealthy clients.
How the hell do yo Defer them one model from another?...
Oh' I get it - The Disguised ones are Next modell... (-0:
Myself I've lost track of the diferences for the last 5 years, the all looks Quite the same.
It's a greate car Sure, but confusing...
Cleaner, sleeker and less cluttered than previous models, it should be more aerodynamic also. Lengthening the wheelbase has improved the looks and should make a significant difference in performance, better lateral g road holding, and improved weight bias away from the rear.
I hope Porsche improves the look of the calipers and rotors before final production, with open spoke rims like that they need better a finish.
Tooo hot!! Finally a GT3 that looks good! That's the power of the 991; you can't ruin it's beauty because it's nearly invincible!
