In a not so far, far away land called New York City, a man impersonating Darth Vader with a heavy-breathing Brooklyn accent was captured on film last month quibbling with a traffic cop over a parking ticket that he had received while promoting interest in Star Wars during a 5th Avenue Street fair in Brooklyn.
However, the traffic trooper completely snubbed Darth Vader...
The man behind the mask turned out to be Ron Larse, a 51-year-old Star Wars enthusiast from the 501st Legion, which is " an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate."
We don't know if he appeared in court in full costume nor if he used his powers, but according to a report from the Gothamist, the Jedi Knight was able to pursuade a NY judge to dismiss his parking ticket last week.

I think that vadar suite made him feel more powerful than he was.
I feel his pain I got a ticket with 3min left on the meter those guys need some sort of monitoring. Maybe have to scan the meter and then your windshield sticker to verify in fact your violation. But I guess shady tickets amount to big money for the city so "nobody cares" as they say in NYC. Those guys are to lazy to come back so they just ticket you in advance of the violations thinking you'll give and pay and not fight it. Glad it was a win!
There was only a few minutes used on the two hours paid for. The munimeter stub was in clear view on the dash board, the traffic cop saw a new Mercedes and must have figured the 35.00 fine would be easier for the owner to pay than to fight well he was wrong.
