Hyundai has released details and pricing information for the all-new 2013 Santa Fe SUV in the UK, and in doing so, it has also given us our first look at the European model prior to its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

As far as the interior and exterior styling is concerned, the European Santa Fe is no different from the North American Santa Fe Sport that was unveiled at the New York Auto Show in April.

While North America will also get a 7-seater, 4,905mm long version called the Santa Fe LWB, Europe will make do with the regular model that measures 4,690mm long model, but which will be offered with a choice of either five- or seven-seat configurations.

Marketed as a more premium and stylish entry in the European mid-size crossover segment, the new Santa Fe will be available in the UK with a single diesel engine and the option of 2WD or AWD, with prices starting from £25,495 OTR.

The 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel is carried over from the outgoing model and is rated at 194hp (197PS) and 311 lb-ft (421Nm) of peak torque. Six-speed manual or automatic transmissions will be available.

The 2WD version returns 47.9 mpg UK (39.9 mpg US or 5.9 lt/100km) on the combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 155g/km.

The 4WD manual gearbox Santa Fe has a combined fuel consumption figure of 46.3mpg UK (38.5 mpg US or 6.1 lt/100km) and 159g/km of CO2, while the automatic delivers 41.5mpg UK and 178g/km.

Hyundai offers the new SUV with three trim grades beginning with the entry-level Style that includes, 18-inch alloys, reverse parking sensors, daytime running lights, self-leveling suspension (seven-seat only), air conditioning, Bluetooth with voice recognition, multi-function steering wheel, ESP, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Management, Trailer Stability Assist and seven airbags.

The next trim level is named Premium and it adds touchscreen satellite navigation, reverse parking camera with Parking Guidance System, electric folding door mirrors with puddle lamps, dual zone climate control, heated front seats, roof rails, chrome effect door handles and black leather seat trim.

Finally, at the top of the range is the Premium SE trim that gets 19-inch wheels, electric driver’s seat adjustment, Panoramic sunroof, Xenon headlights, keyless entry with engine start/stop button, front parking sensors, Smart Parking Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and Hyundai’s Supervision Cluster with LCD display.
