Scoop: 2013 Maserati Quattroporte Filmed at Fiorano, Does it Sound Like its Powered by a Turbo Engine?

|

Evidently, Maserati has its engineers all over the place testing the soon-to-be revealed, next generation Quattroporte sedan up ahead of its sales launch in the first quarter of 2013.

After our spy shooters captured the luxury saloon lapping the Nürburgring, another prototype of the 2013 Quattroporte was spotted testing at Ferrari's private track in Italy, the same place we saw an allegedly turbocharged California roadster.

Talking about the force-fed California, recent reports claim that the new flagship model of the trident brand will be introduced with a base supercharged V6 good for around 420 horses and a range-topping 5.2-liter turbocharged V8 churning out close to 520-horsepower.

While one of the prototype Quattroporte sedans seen in the video appears to be equipped with a V8, we didn't hear any sounds that resemble a turbocharger.

But we could be wrong, which is why you should also take a look at the video that follows and tell us what you think.

Sounds turbo

I'm more concerned with the Audi like rear end. The Italians in my eye have kinda dropped the styling ball. The exception being Ferrari really. Alfa's are good looking but not as good looking as they should be. Case in point I'm still iffy about the 4C whereas I fell instantly in love with the Jaguar C-X16. None the less these are after all just spy shots.
