Earlier this year, federal safety regulators at NHTSA released a report saying that women drivers involved in pedal misapplication crashes outnumber men by a margin of roughly 2 to 1 – and before you make a snarky remark, learn that the same study found that male drivers account for approximately 60 percent of all crashes…
We do not know if there's a corresponding study in Turkey, but this past weekend in Beşiktaş, a municipality of Istanbul, a female driver of a latest generation Porsche 911 Turbo (997) with the license plate number "34 GTA 11" mistook the gas pedal for the brake as she was turning into a gas station to fill up her sports car.
Instead of coming to a halt in front of the gas pump, the young woman hit the pedal and freed the 911 Turbo's ponies catapulting the coupe first into a parked car and then into the store behind it…
The driver and her female friend were not hurt but a gas station employee had to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
After taking their statements, the police called a taxi for the two women who wrapped themselves in red sheets to avoid the cameras.
Kudos to Necmi for the tip!

I think the Americanos call this sudden unintended acceleration and not driver error.
It's nice to see Turkish people owning up to their faults.
if you can't differentiate btw a gas and brake pedal, you shouldn't be driving a car let alone a 911 Turbo.
Wow brakes lights didn't come on until half way through the strore! Managed to hit a car go another 50ft and then hit the brakes? Awkward..
The red blankets of shame! She didn't want to get out of her car to purchase some cigarettes so she made her own drive-thru.
I think the world's governments could do a lot of good by taking these dangerous vehicles out of the hands of incompetents and giving them to more deserving parties - such as Carscoop readers :) .
she dishonored her family she might be facing an Islamic honor lilling
Wow, I want to see the driver after that, and no brakes at all
rich bitch in turbo her dady buy new one. its 400k$ car in turkey due to stupid tax law. ford focus cost 30k do the math
Haha the guy in third video claims that the car was doing 110-120 kmh during hitting the shop floor, I love how Turkish people exaggerate when it comes to speeding :)
This car belongs to Galatasaray SK player Engin Baytar.
LOL her number was GTA xD xD xD
Who cares? It's a 997.
OH,
well said, suing the Japs seems to be easy.
as soon as the news broke about Toyota's $20B reserve,,,, every dick & Harriet experienced the Unintended acceleration,,,,
& they say Turks Are the dishonest ones,,,,,
That's $20B for their army of lawyers and government special interest groups... so the best of luck to every Dick & Harriet, because they'll need it...
I'm saying; a nine-nine-seven is still a car, but thank god it's wasn't a brand new 991!
Wow what an ignorrant statement and 18 peopled like this? So all americans are the same and all turkish people are the same? Clearly you are very small minded...
If you've got enough money you can buy a 997 turbo, it won't buy you any less stupid though.
Natural selection has stopped working on humans, its time to panic.
I'm just joking gosh. Take a chill pill, it's the internet.
#1lazysheep said it right. Next time she will injure someone.Poor luck for this 911's owner and driver (apart from this day) - probably her boyfriend. Zero skills on the road make good show
"and before you make a snarky remark, learn that the same study found that male drivers account for approximately 60 percent of all crashes… "
Male drivers outnumber female drivers, they also drive 30% more than female drivers which is why statistically they are more likely to outnumber female drivers when it comes to accidents. Has nothing to do with ability, if the numbers and mileage were on par women would be an epidemic on the roads compared to men.
