The wall surrounding the 2013 Lexus LS has completely broken with some 30 or so high-resolution photos of both the regular LS 460 and the F-Sport variant of the same model flooding the web-o-sphere.
Taking into consideration the fact that the current generation of the LS has been with us since 2006 with Lexus performing a mild makeover in 2009, when the company announced that it was preparing a new model, we believed that it would be just that and not another facelift.
The exterior redesign is concentrated exclusively on the two ends of the car with the front gaining a version of the Japanese brand's spindle grille, new headlamps (very similar to the ones found on the outgoing Hybrid model), reshaped fenders and a new hood that includes a bulge running along the middle.
At the back, there are restyled and darkened tail lamps connected with a chrome strip, a re-sculptured boot and a new bumper design.
Making its debut on the 2013 model is the new LS 460 F Sport edition packing a more muscular appearance thanks to a different front bumper that accommodates chunkier side air vents, a front grille with a mesh pattern, side skirts, a diffuser positioned between the tail pipes and bespoke alloy wheels.
We don't for know sure yet, but if the F Sport versions of the RX crossover, GS sedan, and CT hatchback are anything to go by, then the LS 460 F Sport will have sportier interior trim and suspension tuning but no engine upgrades.
While there are no photos of the interior, a close up from one of the rear facing pictures suggests that Lexus has overhauled the center console and added a large LCD screen on top of the air vents.
The Japanese carmaker has said that the 2013 LS will be available as the LS 460, LS 460 L long wheelbase, LS 600h L hybrid sedan and the all-new LS 460 F SPORT, with the car's debut to take place on Monday, July 30, at which point, we will be able to give you all the details.

Wow a was wrong it looks really good, well better than the A8 is.But I really wanted a new model
I hate the new grille... Prefer the Audi one
The old one look goofy compared to the new one.
I bet you'll be pretty intimidated seeing one of these in your rear view mirror!
Looks like something a mob/mafia boss would drive.
Valiant effort no doubt, but no thanks...the 7 Series has got my heart. M Sport Package or ALPINA is the real BOSS ;)
If the 2009 mild make over was a 'nip and tuck', then this time round would be classified as a full-blown "plastic surgery". I know what Lexus is trying to do with the spindle grille. I get it. However, they've gone way overboard towards the direction of the LFA and the ISF directions. So much so the graceful subtlety that has come to define the LS over the years has been careless eroded.
I'm really warming to the non F-sport mode, but I still wish they'd done more work on the side profile.
It's just as big, that's like saying Burger King is healthier then McDonald's.
excluding the rear end, which reminds me of the previous gen hyundai azera, i quite like it, now lets hope the interior is the GS on steroids
IM disappointed in lexus they could of done alot more with the ls. with the refreshed 7 series and the new 2014 s class this car can t compete
I really hate the gaping mouth in the front. AUDI execution of the gaping mouth is way better. Still this Lexus stylling is too conservative, they should have done more on the side profile.
OMG is Lexus feeling alright ???? - a good looking car from them at last - feel faint !!!!
I can just imagine the VIP customers (they're probably multiple owners of Lexus cars, especially the LS) who have been invited to San Francisco to see the reveal would say, "Oh, interesting...But not a completely new model after all. It's not like we have to fly from Sydney just to have a peek at this."
OMG!!! If this is the OEM's effort, just imagine the the completely nutty version Wald International would come up for the LS.
There isn't enough change, its just a mild face lift. I think Lexus is waiting to bring an all new design out, until they see what mercedes S class and BMW 7 series will make. Good business strategy but, i'd like to see more out of Lexus
so the waves on the taillight resemble the L emblem of Lexus. okay,,,
No its more like they didn't want to spend the money to develop a new car. Waiting to see what the competition does is just lame and they've always done that hence their 2nd tier status vs Mercedes and BMW. After 7 years the LS460 needed more than a new grille and some side skirts. The 7 just got a facelift, the A8 and XJ are still relatively new and the S will be new, not a facelift of the W221 model out now. Unless there is a major interior revision and some new engines they have seriously dropped the ball.
