Are these scoop pictures of Suzuki's replacement for the SX4 or for a slightly larger compact crossover model?
The reason why we are being skeptical about the model is that one of our spy photographers told us the camouflaged prototype looked longer and wider than the current SX4, which has been in production since 2006.
Perhaps the answer lies somewhere in between, meaning that Suzuki is readying a bigger replacement for the SX4 with more space for both passengers and their luggage.
The test car was thoroughly covered up on the outside but we can still distinguish the prominent, Kizashi-like front grille that extends to the bumper as well as the over-sized headlamp fixtures.
Inside, Suzuki's engineers weren't so diligent with the camo leaving the entire dashboard uncovered for our camera man. Not that there was anything worth hiding as the styling is plain and unadventurous.
The powertrain options remain a mystery for now, but expect four-cylinder gasoline and for certain markets such as Europe, diesel units as well.

is the same platform with the VW Polo SUV?
Looks more like the Chevy Sonic to me? Could GM and Suzuki be sharing one last platform ?
As sad as this is, the most interesting thing I find about this car is the blue stripe under the dash. :(
I'm liking the interior. It's simple and functional yet stylish while retaining the latest Suzuki interior design.
And then you realized it was just a wire/cable.
It's the same platform of the Mitsubishi ASX, which is used by the Peugeot 4008 and the Citroen C4 Aircross
No not the same platform as VW polo, currently Suzuki and VW are not sharing any platforms or technology. Suzuki is taking VW to European court to break all ties with VW. If the vehicle we see in the above pictures is really the next generation SX4, then most likely it is based on the new Kizashi platform. I'm not convinced however that this is the next SX4, because it looks like it may instead be the new Suzuki Ertiga which is based on the RIII Concept vehicle. If you look up the 2012 Suzuki Ertiga you will see it's almost a perfect match in dimensions except for the grille which appears to be an update to the 2012 Ertiga.
You're obviously off your rockers and don't know what you're talking about.
The Suzuki Ertiga just came out and has been on sale for 3 or so months ago and you're saying this is an update of said MPV?
Perfect match, huh?! Evidently, this Suzuki masked prototype above is quite different in every dimension versus the Ertiga. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Ertiga
