This is Something You Don't Want to See Heading Your Way on the Road

|

A mother and her young child who was sitting in the passenger seat of a Volkswagen Golf Plus miraculously survived a chilling accident in Russia earlier this month when debris from a crash on the other side of the road flew into their compact MPV.

Video footage from the dashboard mounted camera on the Volkswagen model shows a detached metal piece from the guardrail heading towards the car, which at the time, was fast-moving on the highway, piercing the windshield.

Luckily, the metal object hit the car right in the center of the window with both the mother and the child making it out alive and unscathed.

Head past the break to watch the video.

Lady Luck was smiling upon them in this situation! The more I see the footages from dash cams, the more I want one or two.

Had something similar happen to me back in the eighties.  Was following a Semi truck in my SVO Mustang, when something came at us in the air, it hit the ground just before we got to it and it went under the car and ended up under the right side rear passenger foot well where it punched a hole in the the floor pan and stuck. We had to stop, jack the car up and remove it.  Turns out it was a motor mount from the Semi,  Looked similar to the rail to post mount in this video.

You are correct. I hope to NEVER see something like that flying towards me on the road!

just focus on the green labelling of the date/time of the camera.
How those Russians dashboard cameras are made that the green display jumps out of the focus ?
