If you were wondering whether Fiat really dropped any cars into the sea while filming its new television and online spot called “Immigrants”, the answer is yes and the Italian firm has a set of pictures to prove it.

Fiat tells us that is submerged a total of six vehicles in the sea during the shoot, with the most impressive jump performed by the 500 Giallo (yellow) Sport that was dropped by a crane from more than 70 feet / 21 meters in the air.

The company adds that some 500s were pulled in and out of the water by boats, tractors and a tow truck, while in one instance, because the ocean was too rough to use tracks to pull the car in, Fiat says that one of the stunt drivers drove an Abarth model off the pier and into the water.

The commercial was filmed over a period of 12 days along the Amalfi Coast in Italy and New York City.
