2014 Mazda6 Sedan: Live Photos from Moscow and New Videos

|

The much-anticipated 2014 Mazda6 sedan made its first public appearance at the Moscow International Auto Salon this week before it goes on sale in Europe and Japan later this year and the rest of the world, including the U.S. and Canada, in early 2013.

Besides a new set of photos and a video from the presentation at the Moscow show, we've also found the first promotional clips for the mid-size sedan model, one without sound and the other with two musicians playing to the tunes of "All Day and All of the Night" by the British band The Kinks.

While final specifications for global markets, such as Europe and North America are to be disclosed at a later date, Mazda revealed that the Russian-specification model will launch with a choice of two new four-cylinder petrol engines from the firm's SKYACTIV-G range.

These include a base 2.0-liter unit rated at 148hp (150PS) and a 2.5-liter engine producing 189hp (192PS). Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic, both driving the front wheels.

This car looks really ok, nothing specials but really ok. But I don't know why this car have only 192 HP wth a 2.5l Engine? A stock 1.4l engine with Turbo can reach this power too.

And 192 HP are really not enough for a mid-size sedan like the Mazda 6. A turbo V4 or V6 are really sexy with 250 HP or more will made this car more interesting.

Turbo, if only said... »August 30, 2012

It's Russian spec, your comments on 1.4 Turbos (relative to an established 2.5 engine design base) is a bit irrelevant at this stage.
"Final specifications for global markets, such as Europe and North America are to be disclosed at a later date"

What is more likely is that with the vehicles weight looking to be competitively low, engine power output doesn't need to go up much (if at all) for the vehicle to keep up in the timed performance rankings.

The commercial with the musicians is excellent!

....in addition, this Mazda 6 would be awesome in a 2 door coupe that would easily compete with the Accord coupe.

It's nice but nothing too special. The concept with the swoopy curves was much better. I think they toned this down too much.

The weight says a lot. Like the old model even the base 1.8 doesnt feel slow.

I want to like it but I don;t see nothing special about it. I don't think it is ugly or bad looking mind you, but I guess Hundai and Kia has raised the bar so high I expect other cars to look really great . It like this car does not have that dash of what ever emile would use while cooking. no spice

Sonata and Optima is still better choice even when they were introduced like 4 years ago, they still have better engines( bit smaller displacement, better fuel economy and more Power)... Mazda 6 looks like real nice car, but it seems like they sleeping...
