No sooner than we posted the first teaser images of the new Citroen DS3 Cabrio and one of our readers pointed us towards these full-blown pictures of the French firm’s faux convertible.

We say faux because the DS3 Cabrio isn’t a convertible in the real sense of the word as it retains the doors and roof bars of the closed-top model.

The solution employed by Citroen calls for the use of a large folding canvas roof that extends to the tailgate and includes the roof spoiler and the rear window. Given the size of the soft top, we will have to assume that it is electrically operated.

We don’t have any official details in our hand, but from these first pictures, we can see that the canvas top will be offered in variety of colors and themes including one that incorporates Citroen’s DS monogram, while the Cabrio also sports different LED tail lamps.

Inside, it looks like the French open-top model will feature different trims and colors compared to the regular DS3.

The DS4 Cabrio will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show next month with European sales to follow in 2013.
