It’s no secret that Ferrari has banned auto journalist Chris Harris from driving its press cars after a rant back in 2011 where he revealed, among other things, that the Italian company “custom-tunes” its vehicles for track tests and media purposes.

However, just because Harris is pissed off with the way Ferrari’s people try to manipulate the motoring press doesn’t mean he has a beef with Maranello’s cars – at least not with the regular models.

Since he couldn’t obtain one for testing purposes from the manufacturer, Harris decided to sell his Porsche and buy one as his personal car. The vehicle of choice is a used Ferrari 599 GTB packing a 620-horsepower V12.

Harris stated in his posting on YouTube: “The finance payments were too much, someone offered me good money for it, so I sold the Porsche. 599 values have hit the skids in the UK, Ferrari won’t let me drive its cars any more, and I miss driving them so I bought, a 599. It’s fast.”
