Needless to say, there are a lot of things to like about a virtually brand new 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 that has covered only 53 miles (85 kilometers) since it rolled off the brand’s assembly line in Japan and which has been listed for sale by the Specialtysales dealership in Pleasanton, California.
What we do need to explain are all the things that you may not like about the car – and we’re not talking about the $49,990 (€39,900) that you may be missing to buy it nor the depressingly plain, grey interior.
For starters, it’s a right hand drive example (as with all pre-R35 Skyline GT-R’s) but that will probably be the least of your worries as this particular example is a grey market import with an overseas VIN number, which means it can’t be sold or registered as a regular vehicle in California and many other states.
The dealer notes, “This vehicle is being sold exclusively for OFF ROAD USE ONLY” – so forget about impressing your friends at your local Cars & Coffee gathering.

It is a re-manufactured black Skyline body from Nissan Motorsports with black racing seats and a Hydra Nemesis standalone onboard computer.
The engine is an Inline 6 twin turbo that runs on race gas and pumps out approximately 450 AWHP. Other factory upgrades include an Apexi exhaust and downpipes, an HKS fuel pressure regulator, and a Nismo coilover suspension..
